Anyone have experience with dry eyes prior to lasik

I have minor dry eye syndrome.. Honestly, my eyes never bother me at all unless i put contacts in them, if i keep contacts in them for a few hours, they get irritated and start to get red.

I was wondering if anyone has had dry eye syndrome before they lasik surgery and how their eyes were after the surgery.

I've been reading up a lot on dry eyes and lasik, even came across this cool article about it: http://www.allaboutvision.com/visionsurgery/lasik-dry-eyes.htm

However i'm looking more towards someones actual experience than reading an article explaining it.

Thanks in advance.

Some contacts work better than others with dry eyes.  You might try switching to a different type/brand.  Everyone's different, but 1-day Acuvue moist lenses worked well for me.

Yes its very common and often they sting a lot. Gets better with time and about 8 weeks after starting usually almost never sting. If the sting gets "bad" ask your Eye MD for a steroid drop to use for a couple of weeks as your eyes get use to restasis.

Thanks for the feedback. Is it normal to feel a very faint burn after using a restasis drop?

I am using them and when I put a drop in my eyes its just a slight discomfort of burn, nothing major, can be ignorred easily.
