strange opaque circle in front? AcrySofIQ IOL

Unbelievably clear vision after surgery except for a small 1 degree, perfectly circular and perfectly opaque circle. Unfortunately, this is situated exactly where I'm looking (always). That means I can't see faces if I look at their eyes, can't read signs, etc. As the mind fills in, things disappear directly where I'm looking (like people crossing the street in front of me). Then they magically re-appear as they move out of that area.
The occluded disc is always where I'm looking, never changes.
Someone must have something similar, maybe it wasn't noticeable if it was off  to the side? Ideas?

Since you are only 3 days post op this could be due to some swelling on the cornea BUT you need to call your surgeons office and report it. The other think it could be is swelling (edema) of the macula (reading central part of the retina). Call Monday morning. If it were to get worse, bigger, painful, etc call immediately

thank you for the reply. I'll call though i see him Tuesday morning.
it's a strange artifact, not variable, completely occluding, circular to a tee. i can see it, exactly where i look, i can make things disappear by looking at them. i see the grey, perfectly round, unchanging disc over most surfaces.  no other symptoms.
such a contrast to the perfect vision in the rest of my field.  if it were off to the side, i could ignore it. thanks.
the deficit is almost too round and perfect to be retinal but i suppose the overall clarity of the lens could have revealed something previously hidden. guess I'll have to track that down. but the truth is, i saw this area before the surgery with this eye.. so i think it's the lens, somehow.
Well good luck. Just a few thoughts. if it was there before surgery it is not cornea swelling and likely is a macular problem. If it was not there before surgery the best thing would be corneal swelling which should go away quickly.
