I have a lot of trouble with eye soreness that is caused by excessively divergent eyes in their relaxed position. This has been measured at more than 8 Degrees some years ago. This allows me to obtain even far image double vision and contributes to the rapid-onset eye fatigue I experience when using computers or reading.
The descriptions of Amblyopia or Strabismus don't fit.
I have had many different therapies proposed over the years, even prismatic lenses and eye exercises but they both made the condition worse, even after some weeks.
The only one that works is patching one eye, usually the sorest eye (left).
I wear glasses to correct for Presbyopia only today.
My Optometrists have been at a loss.

Easy for him to say.
I think the condition is Exophoria a subset condition of Heterophoria.
There really isn't much listed on web sites that is done for it until it permanently alters your vision and you're seeing double all of the time. Then it appears that you have to wear precisely set prismatic lens' to allow fusion.
Given how my eyes keep changing I can foresee a lot of glasses expenses as the prism is continually adjusted as my eyes relax with relief and age.
Most helpful is base in prismatic reading glasses.
Suggest you see a Eye MD ophthalmologist that specializes in strabismus-pediatrics. either than or continue your patching. (generally that tends to make the condition worse).
