Can YAG laser for cataracts agravate macular edema ?

I recently had YAG laser 6 weeks after cataracts surgery, however the laser fail to make any  improvement in  my acuity,.
I still see some letters like they are "underwater" . I suspect is macular edema.and I have an app. with a retinologist next week. My question is could the YAG laser I had make the edema worse ? Shouldn't the  cats Dr realized this nefore giving me the YAG laser ?
Thanks you so much for any responses !

Macular edema can cause a temporary farsighedness that goes away with the swelling from macular edema goes away.

We did compare images of my retina taken before surgery and the weeks after surgery which showed no swelling of the macula.

It's strange, I have moments of razor sharp vision (which I can't even remember seeing that well -- at distance of course) and then it gets cloudy again from time to time.

Could the "cloudiness" / blurry visiont be a matter of currently being farsighted? I'm +2 after surgery.

those drops are to prevent macular edema and while they dramatically reduce the incidence of macular edema they do not completely eliminate in all people using them. It is possible to need a Yag capsulotomy a second time, I do several hundred a year and in the last 12years have never had to repeat a second time.

Would there ever be a need for a second YAG laser treatment?

I had the YAG laser 4 weeks after cataract surgery and for about a day, everything at distance was incredibly razor sharp and clear. And since then it's been cloudy and blurry [at all distances].

I've been on NSAID drops and the Prednisone drops for the past five weeks. Can Macular Edema happen even while taking these drops?

If the capsule was cloudy before Yag laser it might have prevented your surgeon from seeing macular edema.

In a small number of cases yag laser capsulotomy can cause macular edema.
