To be frank and blunt I cannot tell you anything different than the very fine Eye MDs that have examined your child. Your best course is to have him evaluated regularily by the team that examined him.

Dear doctor,
I had gone to sankar nethralaya(a well known eye hospital) and evaluation of the eye was done by neuro ophthalmologist, pediatric ophthalmologist and retinal specialist. As per every doctor his retina is nearly totally scared in the left eye and the optic nerve is also very weak. So his vision in the left eye is nearly totally absent. (now only I am also noticing that if his right eye is closed he is not able identity object at all. how the hell this happened?).
Nothing can be done to reverse the condition.
Where as the right eye is spared to great extent even though the retina is also effected and the nerve also week. But if this status quo persists then he is saved. when I asked whether the condition is stabilized, they all said it looks so. This all may be due to some infection which might have occurred after the head injury or was present even before that.
There is no treatment to reverse or anything to prevent further deterioration of the condition.
I don't know what to do/ I feel totally helpless. please if there is something please do tell me.
TORCH test advised by the neurologist revealed that Rubella IGG AB IS 64 IU/ml and HSV I I Gg IS 5.64 A I . He has diagnosed that congenital Rubella and he again referred back to ophthalmologist and he said that as he had the luxury of knowing what infection has affected that eye, he can say that there wont be further damage.
Doctor ca u please tell me more about this and future course of treatment at this stage and prognosis.
regards
larissa

Thanks for your input. Do you think i am too late to seek advice in this matter. If right diagnosis is done do you think there is good hope for him.

Your son should have a second opinnion with the best pediatric ophthalmologist you have access to. Yes it is possible his present problems relate to his previous injury.
