vision problems with sinus infection

Two weeks ago my husband had a severe sinus infection located mostly on his right side.  He had pain around his eyebrow and his eyeball hurt.  Then his vision in the right eye began to "float" periodically, and he would see a spot of some sort.  He ended up going through two rounds of antibiotics prescribed by a family doctor.  An opthamologist checked his eyes and said there was inflamation around the corneas, and he prescribed Zylet drops.  The sinus infection went away, but his eyes still bother him.  The opthamologist examined him again and can find nothing wrong.   When he looks at things, they sometimes seem to float, and he still sees a spot in his line of vision.  He is a furniture restoration specialist and has to match precise colors almost daily.  He is having difficulty doing this now.  Can you offer any ideas?

Thanks for the info.  I will have my husband check the Amsler grid.  He came down with a fever of almost 102 yesterday.  I hope it is not related to any of this.

When we hear the word "float" we think of floaters which are particles in the vitreous in the back of the eye. Often too small for the ophthalmologist to see when they look in the eye the patient can often perceive an area of "blur".  That's about as much as I can offer without an exam. I suggest a second opinion with another ophthalmologist. be sure an Amsler grid is done. Also use a internet search engine and look up amsler grid and have him test his eye at home.
