vision worse after cataract surgery

I had cataract surgery on my right eye (8 weeks ago) and left eye (3 weeks ago) with toric implants for astigmatism.  I have quite a bit of  improvement of the astigmatism in my left eye. However, the right eye still seems quite bad (although different from pre-surgery). Even with a new lens in my glasses for the right eye (I am still wearing no lens for the left eye) my vision is considerably inferior to what I had previously with my glasses. However, my surgeon says that I now read at 20/30, and he seems to be suggesting that I ought to be satisfied and able to see without any glasses. However, I no longer feel I can see well enough to drive safely, and any close work or reading is a struggle, even with strong reading glasses. They merely enlarge things enough to see them, but do not correct the "blur" of astigmatism.  Also, I am having a great deal of trouble with lights, whether many bright lights (such as in a large store) or outdoor lights at night. In addition to the change in vision, I also have some quite large distracting floaters that developed just prior to and since the surgery.   Should I pursue these problems further with my doctor, or just settle for  this decrease in my vision and consider it to be part of the result of the cataract surgery? I am only 57 and was planning to go back to work eventually, but I will be very limited if my vision stays at this level. I am quite concerned with the outcome of these procedures, as I was under the impression that after the cataract surgery my vision would be improved, not lessened.

Thanks for responding to my question. I too was beginning to think it's time for a second opinion.
