weird spots and swirls

I have been seeing dots for the past two years now.  They started out only when I looked at something white, and then they worked up to being all the time.  It almost looks like looking at a fuzzy screen.  Now I see them worse when it is dark.  Also, when I look at something, like carpet for example, it looks like the carpet is moving.  It is almost like looking at a vehicle from inside, and you see the heat steaming off of the front.  What could this be?  The doctor said it could be pregnancy, but I had my child a few months ago, and it is still getting a little worse.  Please help!

To put your mind at ease it is quite unlikely that your problem is due to a brain tumor

Please go to this website to read about the most likely cause:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entoptic_phenomenon

If the eye doctor you saw last was not an MD physician (Ophthalmologist) but rather a non-physician, limited care provider (optometrist) then see and Eye MD. If it was a Eye MD ophthalmologist

Most things that are serious would have progressed to more serious symptoms over a two year period.

I'm seeing dots on my computer screen as I type. They are the red blood cells in my retinal capillaries.

I did have an eye exam about 3 months ago, and they found nothing, and I have anxiety so I started worrying that I might have a brain tumor, but I go back to the eye doctor.  I am trying to find reasons other than brain tumor for this.  Thank you for your help.

you need an eye examination by a Eye MD physician (ophthalmologist). It's not having been pregnant.  Use the search feature on this page and look up "entopic" and Entoptic phenomenon.

But even if it is likely "the flying corpusle" effect you still need a medical eye exam.

and don't forget to have your child's eyes checked about age 3
