opinion for surgery

I just found out about my Presier's.  It is my nondominant hand although I do use it for my 2 handed backhand (competitive tennis player).  I saw 2 "big name" surgeons in Philadelphia this week.   One suggested a 6 hour procedure taking bone and artery from my knee to replace dead scaphoid, hospital stay of 3 days and then casting for 8-10 weeks.  Second suggested taking the replacement bone from my wrist, out-patient 2 hour procedure, 4 weeks cast.  Both would require rehab.  Both say about 80% success rate and 80% range of motion.   Unless I'm missing something, or someone has info to the contrary about procedure #2, it seems like a no brainer.
