1st IVF failure

Ladies,
I would like to know if any of you unfortunately got AF before your pregnancy test at the hospital during your first IVF treatment.
I experienced that and it was horrific. It happened at work and I was so angry and sad. I had to leave work. Please tell me if you remember how many days prior to the appointment did you get it...
I got it AF 4 days before the blood test at the clinic. What did the doctors say that happened with the embryos? What was their reasoning on why they did not attach/survive?
I’m very curious.

I'm sorry to hear things did not work out for you this time. I have had 2 failed IVF attempts, no real explantion as to why they didn't implant, although the first two embryos were not high quality. But remember even on a natural cycle you only have a 20% chance of them implanting, but your chances will go up for your next try! (I guess it's higher in IVF)
I did not get AF until 3-7 days after stopping the progesterone - were you taking progesterone?
Many clinics offer an interview with the RE after a failed attempt, so you should hopefully get some answers there. Good luck.

My first IVF was also unsuccessful. They implanted 3 embryos, none of which implanted. I was pretty sure this was going to work. It was not until I recieved the results of my blood work that I found out it did not.  I got my period about 5 days later.
It's really hard to figure out why this happens. I know that god has a plan for each of us, but I really don't understand this one.
We tried again last month, my doctor changed the meds, but I was not responsive. The entire cycle was cancelled.
Hopefully we'll be ready to try sometime mid November.

Sorry to hear what you went through. I know how you feel, sad and angry probably, I too went through the same thing. I had my 1st IVF on 15th Sept, they told me the embryos were very good quality, I was so sure I will get pregnant, which I did but quickly found out that it was not a viable pregnancy, probably blighted ovuum. I had a natural m/c. I wanted some explanation, asked why did they not implant properly, what happened etc, the Dr said most of the time when it's at an early stage it's most probbaly due to abnormal chromosome which we can't do much about and the body rejects it naturally. I did not get my AF yet as you did, but that's because I had a natural m/c. But I did some research on myown and found out that our body needs to be prepared before IVF treatment, you should have a good uterus lining which I didn't have when they did the 1st u/s, so Dr can recommend estrogen and then progesterone. This is what I will ask my Dr about for my next FET in few months.I wish you all the luck in your next IVF.
