Hi,
I have 2uterus and 2cervixs and now i m 17weeks pregnant.
My doctor in my country (Hungary) always said when i will get pregnant i need to have a c- section.
But now i m living in London and here the doctor said to me that is not nessesary at all.. I can give a birth normally. Is that true?? I m so confused, because until now i knew i will have c-section but here they dont wanna do it.
Hi Annie
I have exactly what you are referring to, I have two uteruses and 2 cervixs and a spectum and no it does not cause infertility at all. I have a son natural conception and pregnant now. I also have PCO (which causes me only to get periods every 3 months or so) and in addition can only have sex on the right side because of the spectum that separates the further into the vagina. So with all my complications I have had no trouble. I just had to go to a fertility doctor to have them watch when I ovulate as I have no idea. They just find the egg that is growing the largest in one of the two ovaries and then track it everyday to see when it falls, then when it falls they tell you to have sex. Unless of course you know when you ovulate then you don't need this extra step. Back to getting pregnant and carrying, I was pregnant in the right side. The other side just flattens out wtih the pressure of the baby growing. I went on bed rest at about 32 weeks, water broke at 34 and then they still kept baby in another week as there was enough fluid for baby to live, they then took baby by c-section as I didn't go into actual labour he was snug in a bug and didn't want to come out yet, but they had to take him for fear of infection because the cervix was open after the water broke and they don't like to keep the baby in any longer than a week. He was born at 35 weeks, 4lbs 13 oz and never spent a minute in NICU. I also received lung steriod shots for the baby as they always knew I was having a premie around week 32/33 so that helped him develop his lungs before he was born at a faster pace! So no worries what you have DOES NOT cause issues getting pregnant only having a little bit of an earlier baby but healthy all the same as they watch it every 7-10 days with ultrasounds because you are classified as high risk. Good Luck
You'd get pregnant in one uterus or another. The only concern is if either uterus seems quite small, but even if it was just a little bit small, a uterus is very stretchy. Your doctor will want to monitor your cervix to be sure it does not open prematurely. When you get pregnant, you should probably be monitored by a perinatologist.
