Amenorrhea - unprotected sex - still get pregnant

Hi, I have not had my periods for nearly 10 years. I am 33 years old and was on Depo-Provera for about 3 years prior to this. The cause of my amenorrhea is possibly due to my eating disorders and over-exercising problem. I also smoke and have ADHD taking Ritalin. I have been having unprotected sex over the last few months and was just concerned that I may be pregnant or can I still get pregnant without having my periods for so long.
Should I get home pregnancy test to check as I don't know from not having any periods.

Hello I wanted to add my bit here as I AM LIVING PROOF, you can get pregnant without periods(you can OVULATE WITHOUT PERIODS!) I have had eating problems all my adult life, and now have a low body weight, too low, and am occasionally bulimic( twice a month if that when I am having a bad day)Anyway I am 41 yrs now and at the age of 38 conceived our son naturaly, wasnt having periods(havnt had periods for years) but felt swollen boobs and a bit different, weight was the same, barely 6 stone 12(i am only 5ft 1) went to my dr and found out I was 5 months pregnant! had a very healthy baby boy and now we are trying in vain for a sibling, had 3 unsuccessful ivf attempts but like my dr said it happened once it can happen again, I am also now on clomid to help with ovulation, I asked my dr about how with out periods you ovulate and she said my body released an egg and it was fertilized, it does happen without menstruation. So please dont you give up, there are drugs out there to help you ovulate but your body may just surprise you like it did for us, regular sex and hope!! thats all you can do , my best wishes melissax

I hope you take care of your eating disorder soon....

You need some fat in your body to get pregnant, besides all the self hate that the eating disorder comes with does not help either.

Good luck my friend!

Eating disorders are awful, the shame is bad and the secrecy of it kills you inside :(
Great book: "It's not about food" end your obsession with food and weight by Carol Emery Normandi and Laurelee Roak.

Forgive me if I'm giving unsolicited advice but I have myself dealt with these issues and you can get better. And the sad part is seeing your kids suffering from this because they learn from you and see how your relationship with food and poor body image is and they copy. My teenager got anorexic last year and I almost died.... Thank God she is doing well now.

If you haven't had a period in 10 days, then you probably haven't ovulated in 10 year either. And of course, you can't get pregnant unless you ovulate. I would say, the chances of you getting pregnant right now is pretty slim. The only way that could happen would be if your body all of the sudden started to ovulate on its own again. But most probably, you'll need a fertility drug to get pregnant...once you're ready for that, of course!
