Do you have to take BCP when starting IVF?  My doctor said just to call when I get my period in May.  Do I then have to begin BCP?  and if so for how long?

Depending on a number of factors you may not need to go on bc.  Age as well as other factors all make a difference.  Can you not call the clinic and ask them if you are to go on bc when you get your period or if you are supposed to call at that point to make an appointment to be told what meds  to go on etc...?
I'm guessing they plan to have you go on bc.  You would think they'd have already told you if you were going to be doing shots right away without the bc.

Yes, in most all cases they want you to take bcp before ivf. On how long you'll have to take it, it will all depend on your cycles and what your re thinks. I just started mine a week and a half ago. Hope you won't have to take them for too long!!
