Clomid 150, Ovedril and IUI

Hi there,
For this cycle, I took 150 Clomid and developed one mature follicle. Then last night I had a trigger shot  with Ovedril and today went on PCT test to see if sperm is moving in the right direction. Apperantly, the sperm is dead. I asked my RE why, and he said that clomid can give such negative effect but that by doing IUI tomorrow, they can bypass that problem.
Did anyone have the same problem? Taking clomid which then kills the sperm?
So weird...
Thanks!

I am not takingany other meds.  At first I thought it was the trigger shot that made bbs sore, but they get sorer by the day!  I am hoping this is a good sign.  I have lower back pain today but no cramping....also hope is a good sign.

Do you count the day of the iui as day one?  If so I am 7dp...wasn't sure about that.

I am at the same place you are.  I am 6dpiui today.  I have had sore bbs for the past couple days too.  No other symptoms.  I am on estrace and prometrium.  Are you taking those?  I think I read that the prometrium gives you sore bbs.

Today is 5dpiui and have had extremely sore breast since 1dp.  Don't have any other symptoms, had cramping last three rounds, but hoping lack of symptoms is a good thing.

Any thoughts?

Anya,

I had sore bbs, cramps, but more like nausea, moodiness, back pain.
But look it mislead me, so never know.
Maybe not having symptoms is a good thing.

Yes i had 1 follifle 19 mm, they say thats all you need.
I dont hava PCOS, at least doctor didnt say i do, i have periods sometimes not longer cylces, thats why they put me on the clomid to regulate it, thats what they said.

You almost there, 10 or so days to go....

Hi Anya1984, hope you are well.

My nurse just called and said that i am BFN.

I am so upset, i had all the symptoms and hopes up, but i guess this is part of the process, So now i have to try it a second time, she said they are going to increase clomid.

I am just in shock, since its a hard process, i don't know how i will go through it second time.

I guess there are no guarantees, i asked her what is success with iui, she said 3 or 6 times.
Anyway, good luck to you, i hope you are BFP.

Hi Laka, let us know what RE said, I hope it is BFP!!!
I sometimes experience very mild cramps in my right ovary but that's about it :(
It is 4dpiui for me and no real symptoms..sometimes I feel that I will get BFN and will have to start over :(

Hi Anya,

I got my symptoms first on the 2nd day after IUI, i started to take progestorone and maybe that made me lightheaded and nausaues, dont know, but i was like that for 4 5 days, and very very tierd. After like 8 day, i started to feel a little better, so dont know, but my bbs are hurting, and i am so nervouse about tomorrow, almost tempted to do a home pregnancy test, but much rather wait.

How are you today?

Laka-let us know on 17 if it is
BFP!!! When did you have your symptoms first? Because today is my only 3dpo and I have no symptoms...but hopefully its too early :) I can't wait myself but I only go on March 27....

Heather - wow, that is discouraging....what is D&C? Is it painful?
I hope that this time is going to be perfect and you will have the baby!!!!!That would be very exciting.,..I found myself yesterday, when I was swimming, thinking positive and wondering how my baby is going to look like if I were to get pregfnant...those thourgts were so nice that I didn't realize that I swam for almost a mile !!! :) And didn't get tired because I was so excited in my thoughts!
I hope that it will work out for all of us! Keep us posted!

Anya: My two miscarriages were actually very different. The first one was a missed abortion (where the baby just stops developing, but the body does not miscarry it). When I went in for an u/s at 8 1/2 weeks, they found no heartbeat and realized the baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks. So for the first one I had to have a D&C procedure to remove the tissue. The second one was a spontaneous miscarriage at home. I started spotting for a couple of days, then cramping, and then I miscarried on my own at 6.5 weeks. I hope you never have to experience a miscarriage. It's very emotionally draining, especially when you want a baby sooo bad; but many of us on this forum have experienced it, and it really helps to know we're not alone.

laka: I hope this is our month too!!! Your symptoms sound promising. Best of luck testing in Monday!

Anya,

I just read your train between you and Heather, and just want to say that i am in the same boat as you are.

I had my first IUI on the 3rd, with only 1 follicle 19mm, and i am going to test for pregnancy on the 17th. It has been so hard, until i found this site, and read success stories.

I hope this is it for you and that you get pregnant and Heather and me.

I did have symptoms because of the progesterone that i have to take 2 times a day maybe. Nausea, moody, some abdomen pain, but i am better today day 12, so dont know if thats normal or not, or why my symptoms  went away.

But praying that this is it, its so emotional and hard to go through 2ww.

Good luck and keep me posted please...

Anytime, Anya ;-)

I'm just doing everything "au natural" this cycle. No meds, no IUI...just timed intercourse. My breasts are a little more tender today, but that's about it! I'm not sure if I've already told you this, but I've been pregnant twice (unfortunately lost both between 6.5 and 8 weeks), but both times, I had very sore breasts and mild, dull cramping about 4-5 days before my expected AF date...so I kinda know how my body reacts when I get pregnant, and I'm hoping that I'll start to experience some of those symptoms next week!!!  Although, the say every pregnancy is different, so I guess the symptoms might be different next time.

One thing, though, it can take your body a little while to "react" to implantation, so even if you experience implantation at let's say 7 or 8 dpo (the most common implantation days), you might not notice any symptoms until later. Some women notice it right away, while other don't notice anything until a few weeks after. So don't give up hope if you don't get any symptoms next week. There could still be a little bean in there :-)

Best of luck to you too, and keep us posted!

Heather,
Thank you very much for explaining to me how it works!!
Now I know that I should start look for symptoms starting 5 dpIUI and not earlier...
How about you? Do you have any symptoms? Which IUI cycle is that for you?
Mine is the first one and oh God I wish it would work!
Good luck to you!

Hi Anya! I'm doing good. Thanks for asking. I'm 7 dpo today and have some mildly tender BBs, but that's about it. I always get that, though, so I don't really think that means much :-)

I wouldn't worry about not having any symptoms yet. It's too early for that. Your body will not produce pregnancy symptoms until after a possible egg implants. A fertilized egg is pretty much on it's own until it implants (usually between 5 and 11 dpo), and your body doesn't really know whether the egg was fertilized or not until then. Once implantation occurs and the egg hooks up to your blood stream, that's when your HCG starts climbing and you begin to notice pregnancy symptoms. Although, some women won't have any signs, other than a positive pregnancy test, until they're weeks into their pregnancy. So it really varies a lot from woman to woman.

I hope you get your BFP this month!!!

Yeah, I guess it doesn't matter anymore, I just had an IUI done and they bypassed that problem. Now my 2ww starts and I am praying for a baby!!!!!!! God Help ME!

Yeah, that is a bit confusing. You would think that if your doctor said your mucus looked good, that means you do have fertile-quality cervical mucus. Could you maybe call your doctor and ask what his theory is?

Hi Heather,
Thanks for the input, I really hope that IUI will do the trick for me and I get preggo! If not, then I will by pre-seed...I still don't understand, my RE said today that my CM is good but sperm is not moving....if Clomid makes CM hostile, then it will not be good, right?
