Hi, thank you for answering my questions, I feel so lost. I got the estrogen only after I complained to my RE that we may not be doing enough about implantation. Last time I had a phone consult with him he got a little impatient as I requested that we change the protocol, add something more for implantation and do a 5 day transfer. I think he felt that I did not trust his judgement. I don't want to upset him but I think finally it is about me and I will ask him he can relook at increasing progesterone dosage
So I am taking the progesterone suppositoires and my level was 6.4 before. Does it casue dull headaches and I did spot once. I have heard nothing of the side effects. I have no pain or ichiness down there so far. Oh everytime I take one my cramps go away within 5 min and do not come back till like a few hours before I am to take the next one. Is all this normal?
No worries! You can ask as many questions as you like ;-) Estrace is actually an estrogen supplement, not progesterone. I was also on estrogen after transfer, but it was a patch I had to change every two-three days.
Thank you for your advice. I feel so lost sometimes. My RE gave me Estrace as pills, do you know if that is the samething ? I am sorry to be asking you so many questions but thank you for your help
I was on crinone with both of my pgs... the first pg my progesterone was rapidly dropping so they put me on the crinone and it went up right away and I carried to term..
This pg I used it also, but more as a precaution.
mamom: Yeah, it wouldn't hurt to ask for prometrium, too...just to be safe. Although, you might want to check first to see if he is planning on having you on one or two crinone applications a day. If it's two, you might not need anything else. The funny thing is, the oral prometrium capsule is actually the exact same as the vaginal capsule. It can basically be used either way :-) Best of luck!
Thanks for the reply, I don't know what DPO I am right my BBT chart is not showing O so I think I didn't O at all? But I am 9 days past trigger shot with TI and my temp seems elevated? This is frustrating and confusing.
Heather - Thank you, it is reassuring to hear your story. Maybe I will ask him to add prometrium in addition to crinone. Originally he had prescribed only prometrium but it was a vaginal suppository. I did not know you can get those in pills, maybe I should ask for that
ita17 - Thank you for sharing, I am glad it is working. As I had a failed IVF, I am trying to analyze every aspect so that I have a success next time. Good luck to you
No NOTHING like the first 4 days! I would say they are more sensitive than normal....but I'm also on prog. So who knows!!!!!!!!???? When is your 14DPO? How are you feeling? I feel very bloated pretty much thats it.
Hi there ITa17, does your breast still sore, mine stops 3-4 days after the hcg shot?
Well, I don't really have a success story exactly, but my ob (not RE) put me on crinone for a month & I had very little side effects on it.....it's kind of messy & you may be a bit sore sown there after you've been on it for a while but not bad. I didn't get prego, but it was only my first cycle after my DnC & I don't think my body was ready.
Anyway, my CD21 test came back @ 31 so I know it was doing it's job, because on a natural cycle my levels on CD 21 is around 12.
Good luck!
BTW, funny thing is that my RE says he won't use crinone, but to me it was easy & it worked & it's going exactly where you need it for instant absorption! Right now I'm on vaginal endomterin & I like it, I've been on crinone, that vaginal capsule that is micronized (HATED HATED HATED THAT! OUCH!!!) & now this. Tomorrow I go in for my CD21, although it will be actually CD22 or 23! So i'll see how good it is.
Hi mamom! I used crinone after my IVF and I'm now almost 16 weeks pregnant! I used one crinone every day and I also took two prometrium pills (am and pm). According to my RE, crinone is just as effective as the shots, if not more effective, since the hormone is delivered right there where it's needed and does not have to go through your whole system first (like the PIO shots do). Wishing you all the best for your upcoming cycle!
