Just wanted to wish you luck, my insurance covered everything, sorry I cannot help but good luck with ttc
Insurance and savings 1st time, 401K second and for the FET coming up....
Best of luck to you - there are some doctors now offering specials due to the economy so shop around!
My insurance covers $15,000 max lifetime, With $3300.00 annual deductible after that they pay 100% ,They told me that ivf would be $9500 and my meds are covered under my medco script plan So all my meds would be like $15.00 each script but the meds for ivf run up to $800+ for one script at times.
Thanks for the responses. The costs of IVF is mind boggling but the outcome is worth every penny.
You have a nice insurance policy... mine had a 5K lifetime max and no coverage for the medications. IVF cost me 12K for the procedure and over 3K for the meds... Each facility is different though and use different medications.
I haven't done IVF yet, but we went for a consultation at the beginning of the year. We went in thinking that our insurance covered IVF and they do not. They cover testing, but no treatment. That's why we haven't done it yet, hopefully next year. But where we are going, they offer a warranty program for those who do not have insurance. You pay $2,000 more than you would for a normal cycle (so I think we would pay $14,000 - nothing more). They do the egg retreival the one time and freeze your eggs. If you don't concieve the first time, they do a frozen cycle and they keep on doing this until you either get pregnant or run out of frozen eggs. If you do not achieve a pregnancy past 12 weeks, you get back almost everything you paid. So you might want to check around to see if anyone near you offers something like that.
My insurance Bluecross Blueshield HMO paying for everything 100%. They will cover up to four completed IVF for a lifetime. I'm going through third ivf. I paid only $20 for the first visit. All meds are covered. I hope this time it will work.
