My lab work was the same.
I have high testosterone, high blood sugar, high insulin, low progesterone.
I have pcos
I think I have accepted it by now. I was already showing all the symptoms of PCOS before I had the lab work. They did an ultrasound but my doctor had not received it yet. Even though I have not been diagnosed yet I'm getting myself ready for them to tell me, because I think I already know. The elevated masculine hormones are just more proof of that. I wasn't sure if my cholesterol could be related to the PCOS though. Is that a symptom or cause?
It is a possibility that you have pcos~polycystic ovarain sydrome. I'm not a doc. but am speaking from personal experiance. The doc should be able to explain more if that's what it is, I was only diagnosed with it a couple monthes ago so I am not too sure on everything that goes along with it yet. When my doc ran blood tests she said that one of the male hormones (everyone has them they are just lower in women) was elevated and that I have pcos. From what I understand it also causes diabetic like syndromes because you can't use insulin properly, excessive or thicker body hair, especially on the face and legs, skin tags, acne, and weight gain in the abdomin. But like I said I'm not a doc, so I wouldn't over-react until you do speak with him. They treat it with diabetic drugs like glucophage or metphormin. In some cases they will do surgery to unblock your ovaries. There are quite a few women who probably have it on this site, if you want to ask anymore questions. I hope I helped but didn't scare you, and if I did I do appologize.
