Egg Donor search

Hello I am new to this site and wondered if there is anyone out there that has been successful finding an egg donor as I am told this is my only option now after TTC for 7 years and having with very little support with fertility treatment. Only able to seek treatment in the last 12 months but no luck and told too late with my own eggs after 2x IUI and 1 attempt at IVF.

Hi Mysty thank you for your message.
Yes I believe Embryo addoption is a great idea I certainly would consider adopting out any embryos that I had left over if I was faced with this decision.
I am currently looking in to embryo addoption here in Australia although the more I think about it, it really seems we are so far behind America in what we offer women here urgently looking for egg, embryo and sperm donations.
It really is time someone stepped in and helped us as there are so many women who are suffering here who shouldnt be, and spending thousands and thousands of dollars and loosing so many years of their life trying to acheive pregnancy, when the odds with their own eggs are so low. it is really heartbreaking.

how about adopting an embryo!
You would make a difference to a baby just waiting for parents and you would not risk creating any more unwanted frozen babies!~

3-4 Year wait .? thats a lot.. Its very quick at shady grove. . There are so many patients and donors that matches are made in no time.. As I said I am in this 1:3 program.. After I selected a donor, 2 more people selected her.. and the match was complete in a week. And we started our cycle the very next month.

I am now in the middle of my first donor egg ivf cycle.. Thanks for your thoughts and wishes.

I am sorry you are having problems conceiving.  I just wanted to say that I also had a m/c & had the testing done. It came back normal but they think it was my tissue & not babies because it was normal female.  Was yours also a female? It probably was the same thing.  In this case the Dr strongly believes it was just abnormal.

Keep trying & don't give up!!

My Hospital, Shady Grove fertility center has its own local donor database. And they have cost effective shared risk programs for donor eggs. .. It costs me $29k to try 6 cycles with donor eggs in a 1:3 program.. meaning my donor's eggs will be shared among 3 recipients.. If after 6 cycles, there is no baby .. they give back the $29k.

Go to Creating New Generations (I found my donor there. You can search by state. They are wonderful and reliable people in that agency)

You can sign in as many agencies as you want over the internet. Ask your doctor to give you recommendations of agencies. It is an overwhelming process but once you find her you will know. it just feels right. I'm just starting with the paperwork, test, lawyers, etc... maybe by June I will have my transfer.. It says it takes about 4 months from the moment you pick your donor until the transfer if you are organized and do things fast.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US!!!!!!

Good luck with your search for an egg donor.  My husband and I were talking last night about me donating my eggs.  We have been through three IUI's, the first ended in miscarriage at 11 weeks, the second was BFN, and now the third looks like it is ending in miscarriage also.  They did chromosome testing on the first miscarriage and nothing showed wrong there.  We decided that we are gonna take a break and then try one or two more cycles.  If we don't get pregnant I'm talking to the RE about donating.  I told dh that if we can't have our own baby then I wanted to help someone else be able to acheive there dreams.

Good luck!

Yes, I had the best kind of success.  My beautiful daughter is now 6 months old.  We used a donor after many iui's and ivf''s.  Got bfp after first attempt with donor eggs.  Wish you the very best of luck.  Hang in there, it can definitely happen for you.
