First IUI-Please hel p me understand this.

can you ladies help me understand how the IUI process work? I took Clomid day 3-7 last week. the nurse told m eto go back for day 12 monitoring and scheduled me for Wed 29th. the thing is that Wednesday 29th is my day 11. do you think I should call and bring this to her attention? or one day doesnt make much difference?

Another thing is that I didnot sexperience any symptom what so ever while on Clomid(not even sligh cramping). Does that mean that I was not responsive to Clomid? is there any relation between the severity of symptoms and the number of follies?

Thank you,
Lily

Like the others mentioned I would call and let them know about being day 11 on the that day.  It shouldn't make too much a difference but at least they would know and they can decide how they want to proceed.  Also, I took clomid for 6 cycles and really didn't have any side effects (just some mood swings here and there :) ).  Good luck to you!!

Hey Lily-- I did one side-effect free cycle on Clomid and saw the RE on CD3, CD9, CD12, CD14 (documented a 14mm follie), CD15 it was 16mm, CD16 it was at 17.5mm and again CD 17 for the pre-O IUI and CD 18 for the post-O IUI.  I had a larger follie and better lining the next month on Femara but only netted one follie on each.  I didn't use a trigger shot for either the Colmid or Femara cycles- that's why I had to go in so often-- we were watching the follicle size and waiting for the LH surge to show in my blood.  If I didn't surge on my own, I would have been triggered anyway.  CD 11 or CD12 shouldn't make much difference and it may be better  to err on the earlier side b/c you don't want them to miss your natural surge.  You could still call although I'd just go on CD 11 since they should want to do an u/s and blood draw at least once more before they trigger you.

I just finished my first month on Clomid and Metformin.  The first two days I took Clomid I felt dizzy, lightheaded and nauseous.  After that I never felt anything.  I am interested to see what this month brings!  Good luck

Hi there-

I think it is ok for you to go in on day 11.  they will do an u/s and check your follies-they checked me on day 12 and had me come back 2 days later for my trigger so my follies could mature a little bit.  So, the good thing is they are monitoring you.  I am with docsaf-I never had 1 symptom on clomid, and it did work for me.  I know it is so hard to do, but try and just trust your RE and know he is doing what is best for you.  I know-easier said than done!  Good luck to you!

Hi Lily-
I took Clomid for 2 rounds. I did not have a single side effect. It was frustrating, b\c I felt like it wasn't working. but when I went in for the u\s on day 12, it did. The first time I triggered, the RE thought I released 2-3 follies. The 2nd time I had 1 good follicle.

Good luck and SSBD!

I would call them and let them know that it would be a day early - it could make a difference especially so early in your cycle.

While the majority of people have horrible side effects on clomid, some do not.  You will most likely start to feel your cramps around ovulation time...so later this week.  Some people have 3 or 4 follicles on clomid.  I don't ovulate on my own, so I only have one follicle on clomid.  It all depends.  You'll know a little more after your first cycle.  Could be that you don't respond to the low dose of clomid and they'll need to bump it up a little bit.
