So do you think if my estradial test comes back too high, it would mean the cysts are active and I'd have to sit out a cycle if they don't go away this month?
I think what you are describing are cysts filled with liquid, remnants of the medicated cycle. They will not release any eggs, but if they are releasing estrogen, you'll most likely be put on birth control for a month and wait for them to go away before you begin the next cycle. It happened to me after one of my failed IUIs with Follistim. They went away no problem, just had to sit out one month. Best of luck :)
What is the difference between dormant and active? I have twice had a large follicle on CD3 after a clomid cycle. Both times I took a shot to trigger ovulation and had other follicles that did release, but one that did not. My RE called them cysts and said I can't take any meds until they go away. He did not do any further testing and did not say anything about dormant or active. Can you explain what that it? Right now I am in month 2 of waiting for one to resolve, and have to take a month of bcp since it did not go away by itself last month.
I'm not sure what a good level is. Mine was gone by the next ultrasound. I understand it's so exciting for your body to actually do something it's suppose to :).
They did happen to also take blood for testing today, and estradiol was one of the tests, so that's good that they'll know more from that. I have a feeling they'll be dormant. I talked to the nurse about it this afternoon, and she said she doesn't think they'll be any good for releasing eggs this month. I am ok with that, I just don't want them to interfere with other follies growing next month. Do you know what kind of estradiol result would indicate that they are dormant? Do you know how long it took yours to be reabsorbed? I am really excited to know, though, that I CAN grow large follicles; I was afraid nothing at all was happening except creating more tiny cysts. Hopefully next cycle with the meds plus trigger shot I will finally release an egg or two!! Thank you for your help!
