Help, i want a baby but dont have periods. is Clomid affective?

Hi, i am 21 years old and have no periods at all,
I was told i had a cyst on my ovary after having an internal ultrasound, two months later i had another ultrasound and the cyst had gone,

I still do not have periods and i am very concerned that i am not going to be able to have a baby,

What shall i do? I am seeing a Gynocologist this week but i am worried that they wont help much as i seem to always get fobbed off with a wrong diagnosis,

Is Clomid treatment an option?

Please help, any advice welcome.

Thanks, Lucy

You definitely should go see a doctor and have a full and complete work up.  There are a number of different things that could be going on.  For me, I only got my period about 3 or 4 times a year (if that) and clomid didn't do much for me.  But come to find out, I also had thyroid issues, PCOS and some other health issues contributing to everything.  We were able to finally concieve by doing IVF.  Best of luck to you!

I think that clomid may very well help. They heve diagnosed and treated the problem. I have a friend that was having a period but they lasted sometimes 2months at a time. She went to ob/gyn and they put her on clomid and she got prego on the first treatment! So i say dont give up.My hubby and i are goin to the ob on Fri Aug 5th. I have had irregular cycles in the past, but the past 2 yrs have been regular up until this past April. I have been having some symptoms such as increased eating, backache, headaches, nausea.... took prego test and was neg so they will do a blood prego test for me then. And if the hubby and I are not prego we will do test to see if I have cyst or tubes are blocked and if all comes out well then we will discuss fertility drugs(clomid). I would say give it a try. Besides you are still very young and have time to have some children dont get discuraged! At least they caught your problem early. Best of luck and keep me posted!

Hi,

considering you don't get your period it may be necessary for them to do a good workup and check your hormone levels and see if they can find a reason that you don't have periods.  Hopefully then it can be treated.
