Injectibles and IUI would be next step. Good luck :)
We did 3 rounds of IUI before moving on to ivf. Number of IUI cycles depepnds on reasons for infertility and your history. If you think IUI can work for you I would try a few mmore times with injectables since ivf is very invasive.
Thanks! I think I will stick with the IUI for a while. My insurance pays for it, so it makes sense for now. If nothing, then IVF. I hope luck is on my side soon.
Good luck to you all too! :)
My doctor would have done a more than the three IUI's that we did on me, but the first two were on Clomid (which they don't like you to take more than three months, although I know that a lot of doctors feel otherwise and do 4-6 months or more...)
Honestly, I don't think it matters if you a) have insurance to help pay for the IUI's and b) have the patience to keep trying. We didn't have insurance and we didn't want to waste anymore money on something that only had a little bit more of a %/chance than natural intercourse. It was about $2500 for one IUI with meds and the procedure and about $10k for IVF (we do have insurance that covers the meds, so that helped in the bottom-line cost)
I hope this helps!
My RE does 4-6 rounds of IUI, then 4-6 rounds of IUI with injectables and then moves on to IVF. I got pregnant on my 4th IUI with Femara and Trigger. Good luck!
