How many vials of follistim?

This is my first month on follistim.  I was under the impression that 900 iu was going to be enough.  I found out yesterday at my first RE appointment for dosage instructions that I need to take 150 iu yesterday, today and tomorrow.  THAT IS 1/2 THE VIAL!  UGGHH!  I had no idea.  For those of you that use this medicine, about how many ius do you use each month?  I did find that Schraft has the cheapest price if you buy in bigger bulk.  If you buy at least 1500 ius, they give you $100 off and their price is $718 for each 900 ius.

That would be about $750 for 900 iu.  That is about right!  I paid $708.  Found it for $704 and $700 at other places.  Schraft said if I order 1500 iu, I get $100 off.  So, to get 1800 iu it would cost me $1334 (so $667 for each 900 vial).  That is the best deal so far.

I am using 75IU follistim injection.  I have to inject 4 times (CD3, CD5, CD7, and CD9).  Each vial cost me about 59.75.  i pay out of my pocket 249.00 for 4 vials.

I bought follistim over the phone with special pharmacy.  they have 75IU vial.  so they sent me 4 vials.  pretty cheap comparing all pharmacy around my area.

Fertility med is expensive.  sometimes you have to spend money on what you want to get.  i believe it worth it.

Thanks.  I hope it is the same for me.  They said I already have 6 measurable follicles in the left ovary.  The largest being 9.  Isn't that pretty good for cd3?

I used the 600IU vial of follistim.

My RE said that there is actually more than 600IU in the vial--it's actually somewhere like 720IU in there.  So, maybe the 900IU have a little more in there as well.

Maybe with that high of a dose you wont have to take the follistim very long--or maybe they'll reduce your dose once they see a good start to follicle growth.  I was only on 75IU one day then the other days was 50IU, so I didnt even finish my 600IU vial!

I realize that my body is different, I just want to get a general idea of the maximum amount.  I can't afford $3000 a month unless I am going to try for IVF.
