How soon can you get pregnant after removal of mirena coil?

Hi, I had my Mirena coil taken out on 30th sep, 12 days ago and i was wondering how long after would it be that i could possibly become pregnant?? My period was  ment to start on the 7th oct but it hasnt, is this due to the removel of the coil or is there a chance i could be pregnant??

I have done a home test to see and it said not pregnant! but my body seems to be saying it is!? so thats why i was wondering if the removal of the coil might have something to do with the late period or not, im off to see my own GP to see what he can tell me

I had my coil removed on 3rd Nov 09, I think Im having my period just now, cramps ect.... It was very light for three days then brown like end period, then today like a normal period. My partner and I are desperate for baby. Does anyone know how long this might take?

My Mirena actually came out on it's own on Oct 26. Before it came out we were planning on taking it out in January and start ttc. Well, it came out with my period. We decided just for fun to start trying. TWO WEEKS LATER...I JUST GOT A BFP THIS MORNING!  :)

So I do know it doesn't take any time at all. I think the doctors say to wait one cycle, but it can definetely happen after you have one period, or if you are on your period when it's taken out.

Wait, let me correct that statement. Okay Mirena came out on OCT 26, two weeks later I ovulated, and 2 weeks after that I got a BFP..sorry for the confusion. The point is...the baby was made 2 weeks after it came out.

Thank you for letting me know how quickly it happened for you. So pleased for you. I hope all goes well with pregnancy. I hope it happens quickly for us also. We really want a baby together. Been togethe 5yrs and I have an 8yr old from a previous relationship. This would really complete our family.
I don't know when to take my last period from. It started very light, only on toilet paper , on 17th Nov then had proper bleeding from 21st Nov. If 17th my ovulation would have been 1st Dec and we had intercourse 3 days before and on day. If 21st Nov, my ovulation date is today. Had intercourse yesterday and prob will today. I have been getting period like symptoms already though. Lower back pain, cramps on and off, headaches, slight nausea, but unusually heartburn. I never get heartburn. Thats new and so sore. Sympathy to anyone who suffers regular.
All and any advice welcome.

Well its been about 3 months since i have my coil removed and i found out a few days ago that im about 6 weeks pregnant!! didnt take long! i see my midwife in a few days to find out dats and what not!

I had my coil removed on November 3rd, my partner and I have been trying for a baby since. This will be the 4th atempt since. We are following all online advice. My period has been slightly irregular ranging from 27-31 days. So we use ovulation dates for them all. We try from two days before 27 day ovulation due right through to two days after 31 day ovulation due. We try to have sex in the morning when the sperm count is supposed to be highest, we always end with man on top or side by side then elevate hips for approx 20mins after. These are all tips we have read. We both stay off alcohol during "trying time" and have changed our diets slightly. Both our BMI are fine and I have been pregnant before although lost the baby so know were both fine. Every month wen my period arrives I cood cry. Does ANYONE have any further tips? All would be welcome, we want this so much, it would complete our family as I already have an 8 year old from a previous relationship.

Sorry to hear you going through all of that. I have six children and i am 31. Some advice, try taking evening primerose oil(got mine from CVS),try vitex(chasteberry from the vitamin shop or GNC),and also order some pre-seed from early-pregnancy-tests.com it comes with free test too. If i can help any futher drop me a note anytime, i accept friends!

Thank you very much, I will try all of the above. Just feels like its never ending. People keep telling me when you stop trying it will happen, but we want it so why would we stop trying. It dont make sense. lol! I am grateful for all and any advice that can be given. Thank you for yours and for you to have 6 children, you must be doing something right. Is there anything your partner does?

Well after having thecoil removed we are on try number 5 or month number 5 for trying. No luck as of yet, although pregnancy test due to be done next thursday. My cycle has not been the same each month from having the coil removed so we timed sex to fit in with all possible conception dates. My shortest cycle has been 27 days and longest 31. Gotta say, this month ben kinda fun making love for 10 days. Ill find out and let yo know, but you definately dont go right back to normal for everyone and it can take a while. Ill let you know how long it takes us to get pregnant. People keep teling me trying fora year or so is normal, OMG, thats ages, but then again, almost half way there.

i had my mirena coil takin out on 18th january i was on a light period when i got it took out and still bled 2 days after having it removed.... I have always been really fertile so im hoping i am pregnant as i type this, while i had the mirena coil my periods were very erratic i could go a couple of months without a single period... I really really hope im pregnant this will b my fourth and final pregnancy so my fingers and toes r firmly crossed... has any1 else had their coil taken out whilst on a period and if so.. how long till you get preggers????? Im so desperate 4 a baba.

you sound like me. I had mine removed on dec 11 after 21/2 yrs and next wk i will take a hpt. some it takes one month some 3 some 9 mons. But if you have no health issues you should have no problems just keep bd.

I woodnt pin all yu hopes on being pregnant right away, reason being like my post says this will be the 5th month of trying for us. Were going down every avenue including positins, etc, no smoking/drinking and working out ovulation for the best days to try. I hope you do fall quickly, but dont be looking for it for sure. It does not happen right away for everyone. We have no health issues either. We are both fertile, so there no reason not to.
I pinned my hopes on it happening quickly and just feel flattened every month. Reading some of the comments you think it will happen right away and is NOT always the case.

I am having my mirena removed tomorrow. I am really excited. I have had the iud for about a year and a half and I think I had 3 periods the whole time. I am having a period now so I'm hoping that was a sign. I really hope it happens soon. Good luck everyone.

Was due period anything beween tuesday and sunday. On Tuesday I has pink spotting, thought it was start of my period, cramping, nausea, but nothing came of it. Yesterday there was nothing, took hpt which was neg. Today have brown coloured spotting on panty liner and tissue when going to toilet. Nothing more has come of that other than cramping and nausea.
Going to family planning clinic tomorrow if nothing comes of this "period"!! Ill keep you posted, but if anyone has any further advice for me its welcome.

It is getting nerve racking! but I am going to hold out till the 18th and if AF shows up on 20th I am giving up!  I have six wonderful children,just wanted on more to make blessed seven. Well its bad news for me, AF came with avengence this morning. I hope its better news for you. Used all my pregnancy tests so bought more today for next month. Please dont give up too soon. It will happen for both of us. I know its frustrating, I really do, but we can both have what we want with a bit more patience and you gotta admit, its fun trying, lol! I cried my eyes out this morning when AF appeared, my partner gave me big hug and said it'll happen when its supposed to. I believe him. We want two more, but im NOT gettin depo injection, pill or coil in between as it messes up your system so much. We will use other methods of contraception that dont mess up natures natural way. I do blame the coil for this.
I dont know if you believe in these things or not, but I was at a psychic reading tonight and she asked if I were pregnant, at this point I could have punched her, No, well I can assure you there is a baby for you really soon. It will be a girl she said. My gran told her. I went to hear from my gran, and she gave me that. I hope she is right. My three babies who went into spirit were there too. If you believe in that kinda thing, it can help at a time like this and I do. I will keep everyone posted ovr next couple months of outcome. Desiree8, please dont give up, it will come, it may even be now. I will keep everything crossed for you. Keep me posted, will definately be looking for your post around 18th.

Sorry to hear AF came she really *****! I have been cramping alot this morning but other than that nothing else. I believe also that we will get our BFPs soon. I believe in alot of things. God blessed people with gifts and as long as they are used for the right purposes its just fine. I want a girl. I have 4 boys and 2 girls already. In my family that is not alot, my grandmother had 12(9girls and 3boys).So I am going to keep trying for my #7! And I agree I wil never get on BC again! Menopause will come first!! Any more symptoms of pregnancy? I hope you get a positive this month, I really do. Ive had AF for 5 days now, normally only get for three so this unusual for me yet again. Wont be the first unusual thing since getting that coil out. I really blame that for everything. The length of time its taking to concieve and all that is all down to the coil.

Had my coil taken out on the 15 jan and still no period. Taken 4 tests all negative. Dont know what to do next

It can take a wee bit for your cycle to go back to normal. I had my first period after 2 weeks, but everyone is different. Give your body a chance to get rid of the hormone in your body. I hope everything goes back to normal soon, but it can take a while with some people. Dont panic just yet, if you can help it. Take care and good luck, keep us posted. I thought my af would be here on Sat but it didn't show up. I ran out of test to take. I am confused now maybe I don't know what length my cycle is so I will have to wait till I get another cycle to determine that.
