Metformin is the best for helping PCOS patients with AF. I had three periods in one year and finally went to my doc. He gave me metformin and I got pregnant first try. It was an eptoic and I have other horomone issues but it has regulated my periods and helped me ovulate. Talk to your doctor about this medicine because it really helps. I have done a ton of research on it and know way more than I can type about it. Here are some websites that might help you understand a little more:

Yes I have PCOS and ttc. I take metformin. I know they can give you provera to start a period. I would continue to see my on or a re. Your going to have to be monitored if your periods are not coming and they have to prescribe something for you. Good luck ttc!
Hi,
Metformin is one of the first line drugs used to help restore fertility in women with PCOS. It is actually an anti-diabetes drug. It is considered safe for pregnancy.
Best wishes
