IVF Pregnancy w/ Twins when is Bedrest rec?

Hi All,

Through the miracle of IVF I am currently 13 weeks pregnant, but still nervous. Is it common to go on bedrest at 4 months? I've been hearing all kinds of numbers. I'm not that big as of now but I'm sure that will change which I don't care. I definitely get reminded everyday that I am pregnant because I feel nauseated everyday and I am extremely tired. I'm scraed that I should not be working and be staying home in bed. Any advice?
Thanks,

I just had my twins in March. I was 38 wks when my water broke. I was off work since I was 24wk because I was having a lot of tightening of the tummy, which is considered contraction. Then 2 days before Christmas I was in the hospital for 8 days for preterm symptoms. I was dilated 1cm and more tightenings. Upon discharge I was told to be on bed rest. So from then to up to about 35 wks I was completely on the bed or sofa but towards the end it was so uncomfortable so I did walk around the house. Try accupuncture, it helps with symptoms. It is really up to how you feel, when considering bed rest. If there is and absolute need for the babies' health and yours then your dr will tell you. But if you feel you can't deal with the stress or being tired then let your dr know. the more excercise the beter it is but you have to do whats best. Good luck.

Hi, I'm 12 weeks pg also with twins.  Since week 6 I've been having appt every 2 weeks, and so far no one has mentioned bed rest at all.  And I'm glad.  Of course I try to stay away from any stretching or pulling or lifting.  At work I actually sit all day, which is no good either.  I think what you're feeling is perfectly normal what I've been reading, but definitelly talk to your dr and see what he recommends.
