Dear Doctor,
Good day,i write to ask about my sister's case, shes desperately want to have another baby but the problem was that of her 1 ovary has been removed because she had ectopic pregnancy and during the surgery the surgeon asked her husband to decide whether to cut the other fallopian tube from the healthy remaining ovary because he was told that if a case of ectopic pregnancy occured chances are another ectopic pregnancy might occur again on the next pregnancy. to his fear of not losing her wife he decided to cut the tube leaving them unable to produce another baby.
they thought about having to undergo IVF, is this possible? since the fallopian tube has been cut already?if ever,IVF is possible for this couple, what would be the procedure then? and howmuch could possibly cost them for this type of procedure?

hoping for your kind reply. thanks.

i hope this helps i have recently been through the ivf process and it is definatly an option your sister can look into you don't need your tubes for this process, as the precess involes stimulating theovary for egg grouth and then the colletion of the eggs through a needle type instrument which they put through the virginal wall stright to the ovaries. so the tubes are not needed.

one of the ladies i meet while gowing through the process had had her tubes tied and now later down the track wanted another child so instead of trying to untie  them the doctor suggested IVF because the process would be less invassive and bypassed the tubes all together.

best thing is to talk to local doctor they can fillin the gaps or at least reffer you to some one who can

best of luck

this is not the Doctor forum but i am having the same sort of delima. I had an ectopic pregnancy that resulted in the loss of my right tube and ovary. then in Jan i had surgery to remove a very large cyct from my left ovary and while they were in there the say a lot of scar tissue and they want to do another test to see if my tube is indeed blocked if it is i will go through IVF if you still have a healthy ovary and it works good  then you can undergo IVF. I hope that helps:)

This is the wrong site to get a doctor's reply... And I'm sorry- I don't know any of the details surrounding IVF. Good luck finding answers.
