Just got a BFN on IVF - devastated

Hello -- I'm new here.  I was googling some things about IVF and stumbled onto this discussion board.  My husband and I have been TTC for over 2 years and have been seeing s fertility specialist for 1 year.  We tried 2 rounds of IUI (i meds, 1 injectables) and just completed our first cycle on IVF with a BFN.

I have friends who have done IVF and all got pregnant on their first try so I was convinced this would work.  I'm devastated, and because our insurance doesn't cover IF treatments IVF plus meds cost us $18k - which we cannot afford again.  Dr. said I have alow ovarian reserve and poor egg quality.

I'm feeling sad, depressed and defeated.  Thought there may be someone on here in a similar situation.  No idea what our next step is and that kills me.

hi so sorry to hear about your failed cycle... ive had 2 failed ivf cycles now. and it is so hard to cope with. i have unexplained infertility... have you tried clomid, it helps produce more eggs. chat to your doctor.. it only costs a pescription charge.... best of luck

I also ate pineapple after the transfer couple days and 15 weeks pg.  It helps to implant.  Make sure to wear shocks to keep your feet warm also.  Good luck on your coming cycle.

Do you know what your FSH was/is??  They say anything under 9 is good.

Sorry about your IVF.  I just completed mine which ended in m/c so even though it worked I still lost.  SOmetimes things happen that we can't control.
Keep the faith & don't give up hope.  Some Dr's offer Grants, I know my Dr does.  Of course there is sometimes criteria that needs to be met but it's worth a shot.
If you can't have a baby with your own eggs there is always embryo adoption or egg donor.  You will be a mother!!  Somehow some way.

Was just curious... What does pineapple core do? Thats the first time I heard of it!

Hi Megs, I had a faled IVF cycle the first time.  The dr's did not have an answer why it failed.  I started doing accu and ate p/apple core on my second try and now I am 30 weeks pregnant.  So don't give up hope as yet.  Good luck I am sure things will work out for you
