I'm so sorry about AF. So it seems like the Femara maybe did help regulate you and give you a more normal cycle length. Your cycle was about 30 or 31 days total then right? If so, luteal phases usually range from about 10 to 14 days, so you probably O'd that many days ago. Typically, OBGYN's don't do as much monitoring as a specialist, so that's probably why yours didn't suggest any u/s. My OBGYN was the same way with me. I didn't realize most people have u/s with meds until I found this forum. After my first cycle on meds, I was so stressed about making sure I was O'ing, that I called my OBGYN and requested an u/s. It definitely made me feel better. With a 30 day cycle, an u/s to check your follies should probably happen around cd14 or cd15. You should have at least 1 follie by that time and the measurement of it would tell you approximately how long it will be before you O. If you have anymore questions, I'd certainly be happy to help as much as I can. Be sure to send me a note and let me know how your appt goes. Take care. :)
Well it turns out I just got my period this morning with a vengance lol.....No implatation bleeding this time. I will definately ask about getting the u/s this time around and see what he says. I will definatley let you know what happens on Tuesday. I really appreciate your time and comments, it's always nice to hear from others who go through the same thing!
That's great that you were able to get the bloodwork done. It seems like he is using the bloodwork to try to determine when you ovulated. 7dpo is when progesterone peaks, so I'm assuming that's the level he is monitoring with the bloodwork. I'm sure he'll be able to give you more answers at your appointment. If you're not temping or using OPK's, then that would definitely be a good thing to start to try to better pinpoint O. You could also ask him about doing u/s to monitor O and see what he has to say. Even just for one cycle, then you would know what to expect going forward. Well, I really hope it is implantation bleeding! :) Good luck and keep us posted!
Thanks so much! I am anxiously awaiting my appointment on Tuesday....Again yesterday no period but just very little brownish discharge. I ended up going in for the bloodwork yesterday morning since I didn't get AF yet. I was told to go and get it done on cycle days 21, 28, and if still no period 35. He never booked an ultrasound. I\m not sure if it's because I have been pregnant before. Hopefully on Feb 24 I will get the answers that I need! Thanks again for your input!
Since the bleeding has stopped, I'm thinking that it wasn't your period. Are you doing any other cycle tracking other than monitoring your CM, such as BBT or using OPK's? If not, it's really hard to tell what could be happening. If I'm understanding your dates right, then you are on day 30 or your cycle today, right? I typically have shorter cycles, so when I was on Femara, I would O around cd14, but the meds have a different effect on everyone, and considering you typically have longer cycles, it's really hard to say. I wish I could help more. Did you have any bloodwork done today then? Any type of bleeding like that would definitely warrant a call to the doctor to see what you should do. Ideally, when you start a new drug, your doctor should do u/s monitoring during your cycle to see if the drug is actually working for you and making you O. If I were you, I would definitely call and request an u/s or bloodwork to try to figure out where you are in your cycle. I'm so sorry everything is so uncertain right now, but I hope it gets better. Good luck to you!
I took Femara days 3-7, which would have been January 22-26th. As for when I usually ovulate that's a tough one....I had lots of EWCM from Fb 14-17...I was put on Femara because I had stopped ovulating so I have no idea when to expect my period now. The last one I got before I started the pills was on a 42 day cycle. Hope this helps!
I have a question: What days did you take femara? When do you usually ovulate?
