Letrozole or Clomid?

Hi girls!

I am 13dpiui and currently waiting on beta results.  Although I am 99% sure I am not pregnant.   I did 50mg of clomid this last time with the trigger shot and IUI. I had 2 follicles.  My RE now wants me to try Letrozole this time around again with the trigger and IUI.  Has anyone tried this drug and what were the differences from clomid?  I believe this is the same as femara?  Any advice/knowledge you have would be great.  Thanks!

I ovulate on Clomid - but did not on Femara.  I will start Femara again, maybe a higher dose this time with trigger and IUI!  Hoping it works this time - but that is pretty much all my RE is prescribing now, he loves it!

I did 2 rounds of Clomid and this cycle I switched over to Femara (exact same thing as letrozole).  I didn't have the mood swings this cycle.  Also it doesn't have the side effects that Clomid does of drying up CM and thining your lining.  So far I am just as pleased with it as Clomid.  I'm 10DPO, so we'll be finding out soon enough if it did the trick.

They basically do the same thing...but I prefer femara, since it has less side effects and leaves your body quicker than clomid does. I would go for it!

Good luck!

I took Femara this is my third cycle with my IUI. I love the femera it is so much less invasive and has a lower miscarriage rate. My doctor believes in both but with Clomid I had a miscarriage.
