No eggs left!

Hi! I had my transfer done on 18/Feb. I had a total of 5 embryos, from a donor, 2 have been transfered. I recently found out that the remaining 3 did not survive. And i know of a fact that 1 of the 3 was a healthy embyo. Has that happened to anyone before? Can the clinic mess up or was it just poor quality of donor eggs? Also, God forbid, if i have to try again should i contact the same donor...or should i go for another donor. And what is it in a donor that i should be looking for?
Will really appreciate someone answering my questions..

Thx.

31 eggs is not typical for a healthy 21 year old.  It indicates that your donor was significantly over stimulated which can lead to many health risks for her.
Even though a young woman has many eggs, new research is tentatively indicating that over-stimulation for egg donation can lead to an early diminishing of ovarian reserve.
The drugs egg donors take have also triggered cancers most notably pancreatic cancer.

i'm struggling with whether to go donor egg/embryo or not. we have one (ivf at 40) and want a silbing. congrats to those of you with successful donor egg pregnancies! are you planning on revealing that to your child later on or keeping it to yourselves? i have to admit i struggle with the not-related- to-me thing.  any words of wisdom? thanks in advance!

Thank you so much for your response. The reason i'm using donor eggs is because my ovaries failed when i was 18 (pre-mature ovarian failure) which is basically early menopause. And 5 was all the number that fertilized. I have 2 tranfered right now, just hoping and praying that it works out fine. As i dont have any left.

I agree w/elizabeth250 - only 5 eggs seem really, really low.  My donor produced 31 eggs which is typical for a healthy 21 year old.  It sounds like you need to use a different donor.

Did your donor only produce 5 eggs, or is that all that fertilized.  I'm 43 and I've had 2 positive transfers and than m/c at 6 weeks and I was told it was due to chromozomal disorders, which is what might had happened with your eggs.  I'm looking into donor eggs, and with my doctor, I get to see the donors quality, and sucess rate with the eggs.  Also I was told the donors usually produce around 20- to 30 follicles.  Only 5 seems pretty low.  Don't be afraid to ask questions.  This process is too expensive not to.  Good luck!

Why are you using donor eggs? Aren't you young for that? Did your doctor told you that your eggs are not good in quality and how did he determined that? I'm not sure of the procedure for ivf but i don't think the clinic uses someone who doesn't have eggs in good quality. But if i was in your place i will not use the same donor. Good luck
