Today September 23, I had my Beta result for my second IVF, it was negative.  My first IVF worked but then ended in a miscarriage at 6 weeks.  I was really hoping this time worked but it didnt sooooo ...... here I am waiting for this menstrual cycle to finish and waiting for the next one around the end of October to start my 3rd IVF journey and Im looking for friends and November IVF buddies so we can share questions, knowledge and help eachother with the wait during and after this process.  Cant wait to meet you all.

Hello and firstly very sorry you had a negative on your second attempt and m/c on your first. You have had the same as my self, i miscarried back in may, 6 weeks and we had second ivf in august  in which i started bleeding on day 11 of 2ww and subsequently got a negative on test day. So we have decided to have one last try against our consultants advice(he said i have very poor egg reserve and quality due to age, i am just 41)but he will treat me and says the decision is ours. We have spent all our savings and am struggling to find money for 3rd ivf but we will, get no help as i am over 39 yrs.This time i am having acupuncture, taking royal jelly and baby asperin doing anything i can to maximise our chances. I know its a long shot as we only got 3 eggs last time and only 1 was put back as it was the only dividing satisfactory. But we are hoping and praying baby dust on our side, is there anything you are going to do different? we have just started meds and will be injecting for the next 2 and a bit weeks, egg transfer mid october. best wishes with your 3rd try and keep updating, the ladies on these sits are brilliant for support, lots love melissax

It was sad to get a negative but I kindda already knew, I really know my body.  This time Im planning on acumpunture and baby asperin as well.  whats the royal jelly for?

dont give up!!!!  I have seen ladies here way older then you that have achieved their baby.  You can do it!!! 3 is my lucky number and I will share my luck with you, third time is our time.  I just got my period today so I have to wait for my next one in October to start birth control pills and then retrieval and transfer in November.  Would be awesome to have a healthy pregnancy as a Christmas gift.

Well it looks like we will go through our third IVF together. How are you coping with the failed second IVF? For me the pain and heartbreak is nothing compared to my late miscarriage following my first IVF. Someone said to me that a failed IVF is a loss of potential which is so true for me.

As I won't be on BC pills I have still an uncertainty which is around my periods and whether AF in October and November will show more or less on time. As long as I can start stimulations by 1st December I will be fine anything later than that would result in moving my third attempt to January as my clinic closes over Christmas. So as for me I expect to be more a late November / early December IVFer.

I am about to start #4 soon except some how my body got screwed up with the BCP. I developed a cyst & then ovulated when I shouldn't have.  I am now waiting for AF to arrive so I can do a straight start with my meds.   This will be my last cycle covered under insurance so praying that it works.  We are thinking of doing donor eggs.

purple - Im so happy we are together on this.  AF showed up the same day of my bfn and is now gone.  I should get my next AF on or around October 21.  After that Im ready to go.  Im really hoping that your AF comes in October  or early November so we can be hand by hand on this one.  Im really positive that this is going to work for me and for all of us trying to get this so wanted baby.

kricket - Im so sorry about your bfn and M/Cs.  I know how sad that is and the scars left by them.  Im hoping this is your time.  I will be praying for you as much as I am praying for myself.  My insurance dont pay for IVF so this will be my third time out of pocket.  It is so much hurting my pocket.  I hope this time works for me, but if it doesnt I will not stop until I get it.  Will fight till the end.  At least my age is helping.  Im only 29.

Hi everybody .I am new at this.I just strted bleeding on my day 12 of embryotransfer .I will go for test tommoow by no hope so far.That was my first IVF.Very dissapointing.Is anybody trying with frozen eggs.Is it work?

Sissi2399: I wish you a very good moth before you start your stims in October hoping that you can relax and enjoy the nice things that are coming your way. As I won’t be doing back to back IVF I guess that I will start stims around the 20th November maybe. So I will be a few steps behind you to cheer you on.

Peppypeep: From your earlier post on this thread I assume that your recent IVF did not work? I am really sorry to hear this. I was not able to follow your progress as your journal entries were not accessible for me. I wish you the best of luck for whatever you decide to do. It would be great to do our next IVF together though!

Magggi771 - Welcome!!!!! know that we will be here to help you go thru whatever it is this infertility journey takes you.  We are all in the same boat. With my first IVF back in June.  I started bleeding the day before my beta and it was positive. Hold up till tomorrow and if it doesnt work this time, just know FET does work we see it here everyday!!!!!!!  Im so glad you joined us.  Keep us posted tomorrow

Purple - We will still be close to eachother my period shouldnt be till end of October and then you know how things work.  We will be cheering eachother up till we get this.  You know we need the cheering.

Hello-

Can I join? I am TTCan#2 and just finished my 3rd (failed) iui cycle. I started bc today (CD4) and have a mock transfer scheduled for this Friday. I had an ivf consult beforehand, but I still feel like I don't know exactly what the protocol is. I am supposed to start lupron on 10/11 and then I go in for my baseline u/s on 10/22. Hopefully I will have the egg retrieval the week of 11/8. If anyone has any advice, I'd greatly appreciate it. Did anyone's RE give any advice on "natural" things to try that might help? My RE always says not to stress. Easier said than done.

Welcome to our little group, good luck with this IVF and achiving a BFP and healthy pregnancy.  My RE said nothing more then not to stress, eat healthy, excersice and take it easy, is a waiting game.  I will start my 3rd IVF sometime end of this month, begining of next month.  I have an appointment the 7th to set up protocol.  Since I think

Hello, I have almost finished our 3rd and final ivf cycle, I'm 41 and the last 2 atempts were m/c and a neg at day 11(started bleeding). Anyway have a very strange set of follicles, 16, 17, 17, 21, 14, 10 and a 35!! which probably wont have an egg. Egg collection wed and transfer this friday(8th) then the dreaded 2ww. got to be positive but my dr didnt advise on a 3rd try as I responded poorly before, bad egg quality and production but we had to have one last go. I already have a couple of questions. Here is what I know of my protocol so far:

b/c 10/4-10/16
start 10 units lupron on 10/11
10/22 - go in for baseline u/s

I do not know what other meds I will be taking - my insurance co needs to approve the prescriptions. Did you start stimming before the baseline u/s?

A friend would like to go to a play in NYC for her b-day at the beginning of Nov. It won't be a lot of walking, but we will be out and about. Based on the conversation I had with the ivf coordinator yesterday, I expect my egg retrieval to be right before or after the weekend she chose. Is the egg retrieval painful? Will I want to take it easy and recover for a day or 2 after?

Hi first off all i would like to say i am sorry for all of yall's pain and suffering but there is always a light at the end of the tunnel i will keep each and every one of you in my prayers at night for i know this one of life's toughest journies. I have been struggling with infertility for over 2 years i am young at age (24) but for some reason we are diagnosed with unexplained infertility which makes us harder to treat for there is not one real reason. I started BC on 10/1/10 and this will be my first ever IVF cycle i have had 7 months of failed timed intercourse, 2 clomid iui's, and 1 injectable cycle all neg. I really feel like this is my last resort. I am also fairly new to this site and am hoping to make some great cylce buddies best of luck to all.

Hope I can join too! This will be my first IVF. I have my water sono on 10/13 and think I will be starting the Lupron soon too- just waiting to speak to Dr. this week. I'm a little nervous and I too feel like this is my last resort...

MEL - OMG I remember us together going thru such pain last time, I wish and pray for you every night, WOW Wednesday is tomorrow and Friday is just around the corner.  stay positive this will be your month and you will make it, you will see.  GOD is with us and this is our time. XOXOXOXOXO

docsaf - Hey girl!!! protocols are different and there are different meds too, this is my 3rd IVF ad for the past 2 I had the same meds.  They bring you in for a sono that early just to make sure your ovaries are quite ans asleep as they should be, then the stims meds come to play.  My case:  my Lupron started at 10 just like yours and then when the others meds come in, the bring it down to 5.  this is all there is in the morning, then the night comes and I had two shots at night, Gonal F  dose 150 and Menopur dose 1 ml till the day you trigger your ovulation wish will be 36 hours excatly before your retrieval, then that night you only need to do that shot, since everything else will be discontinued.  

Retrieval was NOT painfull at all for me the first time, second time was NOT painfull during the retrieval but after, I had cramps, the days before retrieval you would be going almost every other day to the RE office, since they need to keep track of your follies, for you know size and how many and things and blood work too.  This is not a good time for trips since you want to be close just incase things happen to go different, other then you and your dr are expecting it to be.

BB_1145 - Welcome to our group!!!! we love to see new ladies that can be going thru this hard times of TTC come in and join us, the more we are, the stronger we get, the easier it is.  Im also in my 20's.  Im 29 and Im trying for 2 years as well.  Good luck on this your first IVF.  It is hard, all the shots and meds, but is difenetly worth the pain.  Know Im here to help with any questions or concerns.

CarlaLP - Welcome and Good luck to you too on your first IVF, Lupron shot dont hurt, burn or anything but OMG the headaches are bad, they come and go, feel free to take pain killers.  Tylenol works good with Lupron.  Like I said before all we do is difficult but very worth doing if at the end of everything we achive our baby (s) and complete our family.

About me, please know Im praying for us all to succeed and make it thru this as easy as possible and to get that BFP and a healthy pregnancy and baby.  I dont start BC till end of October so I think you will all be before me.  I wish you all the best and LOTS AND LOTS OF BABY DUSTS.

Sisi- Thanks for the info! I will see if the girls can reschedule the excursion for the prior weekend. How long did you take Gonal F and Menopur before the egg retrieval? Most of the schedules online indicate shorter durations then the one I got from the assistant IVF coordinator. The asst IVF coordinator indicated there would be at least 20 days between when I start stimming until the egg retrieval. Based on your experience, is this average?

BB_1145 and CarlaLP - It looks like we will all be very close in timing. I am also "unexplained infertility" - very frustrating. I am 37 but all of my tests have come back very normal. And my DH has great numbers. I'm sure there is a problem, but it just hasn't been found. I feel like if there was a known problem then we could possibly treat it specifically. What are your protocols like? I know there are a lot out there, I'm just curious.

Gonal F and Menopur is a lot less then that, they always tell you so just in case you take longer to grow the follies you dont get discourage.  I always have left over meds because it takes a lot less then what they say, last time for me was like 8 to 10 days only.  You wwill be fine, dont worry.  

Please listen to my advise the best thing you can do is try to relax, no stress is the key to this whole thing, dont get me wrong I know is easier said then done but try.  Good luck and Lots of baby dusts.  Love to have you here, Iam the kind of person who posts evrything too, Im not doing it yet cause Im not doing anything still.  Thanks for all the imput, we all need it.  No matter how many time we do this, we are always like first timers, LOST!!!!! lol

docsaf- I hear you about wishing to find the cause and treating it. I too feel that there is definitley a problem but after two REs and every possible test- nada.

I am awiting my calendar in the mail but here is what I know so far: Lupron on 10/22 and supposed to start stims on 11/4. Not sure which ones yet. I spoke to the 'stress management nurse' last night and she indicated that the stims should only be 8 to 10 days, so 20 does sound long, but I agree with sisi that they are just exploring all possible scenarios.

Did you have a 'water sonogram'?
