Hi Ascott! I am glad that you are feeling better! I've been praying for you! The estradiol patch did make me cramp and made my bbs pretty tender! I've heard the progesterone can affect you, too! Just more things to make the tww that much crazier!
Hang in there! :)
Today was much better for me. Trying to keep busy so as not to think about the two weeks. I had cramping yesterday, and today. Came home early today, really tired. Plus my legs are really sore from the shots. Does the estradial make you cramp? or the progestrone?
Thanks for all the support.
I am glad you seem like you are doing better. I have friends who have had 3 day transfers and have fallen pregnant. There is no right and wrong for which day the transfers take place. There is success stories and lots of them with both. You will do great. I am in the dreaded two week wait also and have tried to stay off the internet except here with the women that are supposrtive and full of knowledge. I know it it is hard to think positive but like wanting4#1 said we are pregnant until proven otherwise. So let's just believe. I will be thinking of you. Keep smiling we are here for you!
Hugs,
Aleks
Wanting - Thank you so much for that article. I went to work this morning with my nose all big and eyes all puffy, my PD actually told me she did think I looked like myself. Your right if it's gonna happen it's gonna happen. Being positIve is what I need. This is why I keep coming back here over and over.
I really needed this support. Will try to do my best to stay away from the internet articles. This is a very emotional time for me, just can't figure out where in my life did my body start to fail me. Been doing this for a almost 3 years and still no baby. It really doesn't help that I'm a social worker for protective services, and I see these stupid women having 5-10 children all born on drugs or giving them up for sex. And here we are just wanting to take great care of one. Anyway,
BIG THANKS TO ALL.
A BIG THANKS TO ALL OF YOU.
Everyone is right. Both transfers are perfectly normal and acceptable. It is true that the embryo is not in the uterus at 3dpo. BUT, it is also true that both a 3 and a 5 day transfer can take several days to implant. More than enough time! Remember all the ladies doing hpts after transfers and writing them off as failed then getting bfps 8-10 days after the bfns???? Those little beans do just nicely floating around in there passing time until the conditions are right. I want to say JavaJess' embryos implanted around 8 days after transfer. Both of her babies did just fine :)
I agree with all the above.
I was pregnant with both a 5 day transfer and a day 3 transfer.
the only reason why they transfer day 5 is to figure out which embryos are the best.
But sometimes when they are able to see at day 3 that embryos are very good they prefer to do day 3 transfer as the lab can damage them.
Good luck!!!!!
Like wanting4#1 said, the internet is an evil thing during the tww. I try to stay off of sites like that because they can be so upsetting and depressing.
I think I would rather have a three day transfer as well. The sooner they are back in a natural enviroment the better, I think. If your doc says they are grade A, then take that piece of good news and run with it.
Good luck!! Things will be okay!
The hormones are certainly messing with your emotions
Try your hardest to stop getting upset at everybody else
I had a singleton on a three day transfer
then I had twins on a three day transfer!
it happens
I really am sorry! I wish that I could just give you a big hug! Please don't get yourself so upset - that's not good for you right now!
I found this on www.fertile.com -
Day of Transfer
Intrauterine embryo transfers are routinely performed on day 2 or day 3 after oocytes retrieval (-48 or 72 h post insemination), although embryos may be transferred into the uterus at any stage between the zygote (day 1) and expanded or hatching blastocyst (day 5-6). Prolonging the culture period allows for selection of the better quality embryos, however, even if laboratory culture conditions are optimized there is the possibility of jeopardizing embryo viability by extending culture (particularly when there are only a few poor quality embryos). Thus, the day of transfer should be determined on a case-by-case basis taking into consideration number of embryos, embryo quality, patient age and patient history. Blastocyst transfers are generally limited to young women (<35 years old) or donor oocyte cycles with at least 10 oocytes and at least 3 good quality day 3 embryos.
So, you can see that a 3 day transfer is NOT done to BLAME the mother! They want to get the babies back in as soon as possible! They are really much more common than 5 day! As a matter of fact, I remember when I was on the Internet after my transfer (I had a 5 day transfer of 3 babies and lost them all), I was upset because I thought that they waited too long! I wanted a 3 day transfer! Please, PLEASE, calm down!
You need to think about it like this - you ARE pregnant right now, until 'proven otherwise', so you need to think about what you are doing and take care of yourself!!
Thanks for the encouragement. My DH is trying to calm me down and I really am not listening. Now Im in full blown tears. I just want to call me doctor and tell her off.
I am so sorry that you are going through this, but I really think that the Internet is an evil thing during the tww!! ;) There are many clinics who do both 3 day and 5 day - there are pros and cons to both methods, REALLY! The theory behind the 3 day transfer is to get it back into the NATURAL setting as quickly as possible, since the best lab in the world is still not even close to imitating the real thing!
What matters is that you transferred three good babies! Trust in the Higher Power to take you down the path you are meant to go down! Please try to stop reading stuff - 1) what's done is done; reading that stuff now can bring NO good whatsoever and 2) you should try to do things that will put your mind and your body into the best positivity possible!
There's no monitoring of the Internet so anyone can put anything out there! Please don't give up yet - it's so not fair to you! Also, EVEN if this doesn't work, I don't think it's because of a 3 day transfer - there are MANY women who have gone on to deliver healthy babies after a 3 day transfer!!
Good luck and be good to yourself! :) {{HUGS}}
