Reversing the effects of alcohol on fertility

To what degree can the adverse effects of alcohol on sperm quality/numbers be reversed? How can this best be done?
What timeframe would be involved in the process?

I'm curious why you're asking.  Was your husband's sperm count abnormal due to alcohol?  I'm only curious 'cause my husband & I were drinking wine every night (except from ovulation - AF) and we just met with a fertility doctor on Friday for the first time.  The most important thing he told us is that neither of us can drink anymore alcohol & that whatever your husband does right now will affect his sperm for two months!  I was pretty surprised.  He did tell me that the alcohol we did drink won't affect my baby if I happen to get pregnant this cycle, but that it could be the reason why we're not getting pregnant in the first place.  Anyway, just thought I'd throw that out there :)
