Spotting

So, I got my definate BFP yesterday.  I've been spotting though.  Yesterday I used 2 pads...tmi...all day.  I called the dr. twice and he didn't seem concerned about it.  He wrote me a prescription for progesterone.  I've only taken it for 2 days though, so I don't know when it should start working.  I thought the bleeding would be stopped by this morning because it has really slowed down last night, to only when I wipe.  But, it seemed a little heavier this morning.  I'm so scared of miscarriage.  Does this sound like miscarriage to you all?

So this is what I found out about spotting...My RE says it could be implantation bleeding, suboptimal ovulation, or I could be pregnant.  I guess I will know more tomorrow.  I'm going tomorrow morning for a sono., progesterone test, and for a beta.  Good luck to you tomorrow!

Well, the spotting has slowed down again this evening, hopefully it doesn't return in the morning.  My aunt is a nurse and she drew blood to do a beta today for me.  I will know results tomorrow.  It's great having family members like that.  She's very upset that my dr. won't see me until friday, so she's trying to find me a different high risk dr.  I'll let you all know when I find something out tomorrow.  I'm trying to stay positive still, and tell myself that my little peanut is just digging himself in really good, so he can be comfortable for the long stay!!  I'm also not cramping, and not doing any heavy bleeding, so these are all good signs!  I will let you all know something soon!  Thanks for the comments and prayers!

My RE is in NY.  My doctor is from East Coast Fertility.  His name is Gregory Zapantis.  He is absolutely WONDERFUL!!!  He actually emails patients...I love him!  Where is she moving?  ECF has a website online.  It's located in Plainview NY on Long Island!

Love, the one thing I have learned through my m/c and stuff is that you do what you have to do for you!  If it makes you feel better to go to the doctor then do it.  When I first found out about my m/c my OB said, "it is pretty common"...I'm sure we all heard that, but b/c I'm a little paranoid I made them  do blood work on me and come to find out I have compound heterozygous MTHFR...my point being I would never have known if I didn't push the issue of giving me blood work.  I'm so glad I did!  If you are really worried I would INSIST that they take your blood and test your BETA.  If nothing else it will give you piece of mind to know everything is okay...don't let them brush you off if it will make you feel better...you do what's best for you!  Most importantly stay positive!

Hi Love. I started spotting one week after we had a positive preg. test by blood and stick. I was very worried cause i had another miscarriage on june at 7 weeks, but the embryo had already stopped at 4 weeks. The first time  though i had bleeding and then spotting. So the baby stopped develop the same day. This time the spotting was just brown color but my doctor was concernt a little bit. He said that it is old blood, and he also put me on bed rest. I'm taking progesterone this time and metformin , the first time i had none of them. Anyway the spotting stopped one week after the first day but it looks that inside there is a little bit but no discharge not when i wipe. My beta was going up even after the spotting not very much as before but the doctor said that it is  a good thing that is going up. I had an u/s done last friday and the baby looked ok. It has a heart beat and was measuring right on time. I'm not out of it yet i count the days until the first trimester is over. Don't lose your faith, the doctors cannot know what's going to happen. They do as much as they can.Just relax and the time will tell.

I'm not sure about the progesterone.  I've never taken it.  Stay positive....I actually emailed my RE about my spotting and I am waiting to hear back.  If he tells me anyhing about spotting in general..that would be useful to you I will let you know...stay positive!  When do you go for your first doctors visit?

The spotting was brown at first, but it now somewhere between a brown and a red.  It's not like bright red...I know it's confusing!  I'm trying to stay positive, but it's hard.  I also don't want to lose this baby.  I don't think I could handle it again.  DH's aunt is a nurse, I am going to talk to her about it today.  How long will the progesterone take to make the spotting stop?

Love....I really don't know that much about spotting as you can see from the post I just posted....I know some people spot when they are pregnant.  So it could be normal but I would call your doctor to see if he will at least test your beta that way you can keep an eye on it as a baseline measure.  I think it's good you are taking the progesterone.  I'm so happy for you.  Try not to stress too much...maybe you can demand the blood test though?  Good luck keep us posted.

It's weird I am also spotting.  According to ff I o'ed on Sunday.  I was spotting on Mon, Thurs, and now this morning a lot.  My cycle is 38 days so I don't think it's af.  Today is CD27.  It's all brown mixed in with EWCM...I know TMI sorry.  Is your spotting brown?  I've heard people say brown is old blood??

Not to alarm you but the same thing happen to me last year. I got my BFP after a week of spotting. I was already a whole week late.  My doctor  told me it was not big deal and gave me a prescription for progesterone. Well when I went it from my 10 wks u/s they found that my little bean had died around 7 or 8 weeks. I actually had no idea because the progesterone was still making my body feel pg. The progesterone also never stopped the spotting it just slowed it down.

I know everyones body is different, but if I had to do all over again I would be all up in my doctors face.  I really hope and pray that your situation turns out a lot better than mine. The most important thing you can do, is force your doctor to stay on top of things. After this whole mess was over I switched doctors and I am much happier with the doctor I have now.

I feel really bad for telling you all this, I am not trying to get you down, but I just want you to force your doctor to understand that this is not something to be taken lightly.

Good luck and please keep me posted. I will pray extra hard for you and your little bean everyday!!!
