I've never done IVF, so I'm not sure about this...but I thought the transfer was similar to an IUI. Didn't even know anesthesia was common for transfers. Best of luck with your IVF cycle!!!
do you mean transfer or egg retrival? My egg retrival was treated like a surgery, and I was put under twilight anesthesia. Transfer was just a quick procedure of putting the embryos back in, yes, similar to an IUI, with a catheter. Anesthesia was not even an option for the transfer.
Thanks so much! Yes, they gave me the option to have anesthesia during transfer. I didn't think I would need it but I wanted to be sure!!
I have never heard of anyone taking anesthesia during transfer. Its a plain simple process. You wont feel much, except for the uneasiness when they put the cold clamps..
I never heard of anyone taking anesthesia during transfer either. It is not painful. The transfer is similar to an IUI.
good luck.
I had my transfered on 10/16, not anesthesia, just like IUI.
I did not get any anesthesia for my transfer, just a low dose of some happy drug. It was not apinful at all.
Oh, yes, I got valium, that's the name of the happy drug. Did not affect me at all though.
