U/S Results From Spotting/Fibroid

Good morning all!

I got my u/s results back from my fibroid investigation. Doc said my ovaries looked fine with no cysts and it appears to be a fibroid measuring just under 5cm, maybe about 4.5cm or so.  Well over a year ago I was told I had a fibroid about this size and I was glad to see it didn't grow much (I think this is the same size it always was). I know that a 4.5cm fibroid sounds small but you have to think of how small your uterus actually is and that's not so small. I thank God it's not larger than it is though.  But the reason I had the u/s was because of spotting almost every day throughout a couple of cycles, nausea, and my temps were a little whacky (higher than normal in Follicular phase).  I appear to be back to normal these last two cycles with little or no spotting (knock on wood).

But what else could cause spotting like that?  I'm wondering if I had cysts and by the time I had the u/s they were gone?

Hi Tina,

Yeah, I was hoping they'd say there was no fibroid and that there was just a little baby hiding in there LOL.  But I'm about to search through some old posts to see what size it was last year.  I'm thinking I had a cyst that ruptured or something.

Thanks and have a great night!

I am relived to hear the fibroid hasn't grown. On the other hand, it would be nice if it had just disappeared :)

I'm not sure what would cause the spotting. I have it every once in a great while myself. I always just thought it was either a cyst rupture or just too much lining building up (if that's possible) maybe an embryo trying to implant that didn't?
