As far as the whole lubricant thing...you can go to preseed.com and buy sperm friendly lubricant which they now make.  I got pregnant in May with it on my second try (but had to have d & c at 9 weeks due to my body not recognizing the baby being lost).

Saliva won't do that much damage to the swimmers....if it did then there'd be no need for birth control.     As far as the O during the BD for you, great if you get one and the myth behind that is that it makes your uterus contract (but only after DH O'd) and it moves the sperm up the uterus faster.   The get a little push from the O....but this is all "THEORY".    Don't worry about not O'ing, although it's nice to O.

Ok, I've heard that it's better if you orgasm after he does. It's also better for ttc because his swimmers will get ''sucked up'' when you O afterwards. True, it's been said that saliva is not a good lubricant, could hurt your chances. Use preseed, it's the only lubricant safe for ttc. It imitates your own fertile cervical fluid. I've been using it, it's great!

My Ob said to use saliva if we needed "help."  He said to not use lubricants, but saliva is OK.

I've heard saliva is not good either but, um, this is embarrassing.  I've been "in the same boat" if you know what I mean, and have gotten pregnant.  If sperm is dropped off near the cervix, it may not even come in contact with the saliva.
