Well I took them all they did was make my moody. I didn't even have a period. So she sujested i take vitex for 3 to 6 months. So far I still havent had a period. I had all the test done and I'm nor starting menapause My hormones are just off. Any way my question is, How many mg of the vitex should I be taken. Every web site has a different amount.

hello , i am a 21 year old female .. i recently had my last depo shot august of 2015 , soon after getting off depo i immediately started to have regular 28 day menstrual cycles ( THANK GOD ) it has been 7 months since the start of my regular period after stopping depo. i have ben trying to concieve for the past two months but no luck :( ive started to belive that i was ovulating but not getting pregnant due to the medicine from depo. i did not want to wait a whole year - 18 months to feel better about ttc & being sure the medicine from depo wore off. i recently just purchased vitex from vitamin world and i have been taking them for two days( first and second day of my period) so far .. i am hoping if i continue to take this herb it will increase my chances on becoming pregnant ( being that my cycle in normal )  hopefully in the next two months .. if anyone has any comments or similar success stories or help about my journey , please comment :)

i too have done research into this herbal supplement, chasteberry is a slow acting herb, it can take up to 3 cycles before you notice any changes. I have read that it is good for balancing hormones, depression, irritability, water retention, cramps, and can regulate your period naturally and increase chances of fertility.

I too have had period problems, and was told i have an imbalance with progesterone and estrogen, birth control pills do not help, i've managed to go as long as 7 months without a period and suffer from anxiety and panic attacks, mood swings, depression, irritability, bloating...and too my surprise a lot of the symptoms i've been experiencing for the past 9 years sounds a lot like PMDD. Most doctors are quick to dismiss herbal supplements, but to be honest, i've lost all hope and faith in prescription drugs, i've taken prozac, paroxetine, trazadone, and hydroxyzine to help with my moods, however i experience either headache, diarrhea, nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, memory loss/difficulty remembering, low sex drive/difficulty climaxing, and i'm so tired of the many side affects of pills or the addictiveness of benzo's like xanax. My moods are quite unstable, but i've decided to take vitex, in 3 months time i will make a post whether or not things have improved...

Vitex can take a really long time to work.  I used vitex for one cycle but decided to get back on Clomid.  The website were I first heard about vitex, said that it can take several months to make a difference. The reason being is that it is only herbs, it it not actually medicine.  As for the dosage you should ask your doctor.  If your doctor does not know, then take the daily dosage on the bottle.

My doctor personally did not believe in Vitex, he said that I would probably not get any results on it. I am not sure if this is true or not this is just what he believes. I personally think you get great results from vitiamins and herbs.  So, just continue with taking it and talk to your doctor. Good Luck!!
