Why IUI?

I was reading all of the entries from the people who are having IUI's done and was wondering if this is something I should do. I am on Femara and had a ultrasound done this mronign, I am taking my trigger shot tonight, I have been instructed as to when I need to BD but nothing has been said about IUI, can someone help me to understand the instances where you should try IUI, is it the next step for me?

I had/have unexplained infertility.  We've had all the tests done and they could not find a cause for my infertility. We did two cycles with trigger and bding and did not get pg.  We've done three cycles with trigger and IUI. I got pg twice but the first time didn't work out. I'm now 34wks pg.  

For us bding wasn't working for whatever reason and we wanted to take a more aggresive approach.

It depends on your doctor if he does IUi, and on you if you want to do it. Doctors say that iui has more chance with the trigger shot than BD. I did trigger shot with BD twice and got prgnant both times, even though it ended in m/c.For me IUI it's not that important. But there are women who got pregnant doing it. I did it once and it didn't work so i only Bd.Talk with your doctor he is the only one who knows your history .

I will be having an IUI done if I ovulate on clomid. I was told that this was best for me by the specialist because they know that the sperm has actually made it in me. When taking clomid it drys up the mucous or something like that making it harder for the sperm to reach. I'm actually looking forward to it, but that's if I can ovulate first.
