Why do I keep having miscarriages?

I just got back my beta today and it has already dropped to 16, so the unevitalbe is about to happen.  This is my 3rd miscarriage.  I have a healthy little boy who is 4 (we got pg on the first try), had a mc on July of 2007 at 12 wks.  Then, another mc in May of 2008, and the RE decided that my husband and I tested positive for an antiimmunity problem (which is controlled through heparin injections) and now another miscarriage this month.  They said something about I may be a candidate for IG???  Don't really know what that is.  Anyone else have any ideas as to what is going on?  I am almost ready to give up because I can't take this emotional rollacoster.

I'm so sorry this happened again. I know what you mean cause i had 3 myself and every time i said i was not going to do it again and after some time i started again...You need to do some tests to see what has changed since you had your son.If you tested positive for antibodies did you start the heparin with this pregnancy? Maybe next time tell your doctor to put you on baby aspirin along with the heparin. I'm really sorry.God bless your family

I'm so sorry to hear how difficult this has been.  There are some great women over in the M/C community -- surely someone over there may know about IG.... I know the next few weeks are going to be really miserable so give a shout if you need some support.

Thanks ladies.  Yes, I had the heparin and baby asprin.  I just don't understand how your body can change so much.

I've had 5 miscarriages its so devistating to think about it. I thought my first pregnancy would work because I was about 2months but had a miscarriage but since then the rest of my m/cs have been really early. I just want my baby but I'm scared if we try again I'll have an other m/c. Its a scary thought but does anyone know if I try again it'll work??? Plzz help!!!

I am sorry to hear about your m/c. Are you going to a specialist? (Reproductive Dr) I would suggest that. Also, ask him or your regular OB to run blood tests on clotting disorders. It may be that your blood is clotting during pregnany & cutting off blood to baby.  I just found out that I have MTHFR & Pai-1.  So I have to take baby aspirin to thin the blood & lovenox when I am confirmed pregnant again.
