i did 3 rounds of clomid @ 50 mg and got pregnant on the 3rd cycle with IUI. I actually did get pregnant the 1st cycle but miscarried but am now 20 weeks pregnant. It does work for some people. I would recommend working with a specialist.
I was on clomid for 6 months but they really do not want you to be on it for longer than about 4 months I heard. Apparently it thins the lining the more more take which can lead to miscarriages and well when you are trying so hard to get pregnant that is the last thing you need right ???
I am about to go onto whatever the next step is, I am awaiting an appointment with my obgyn to see what we are going to do but I have read so much on here about Femara being another option and well didn't even know about testing my lutheal phase and now people are talking about preseed too and trigger shots etc. This site is fantastic and have left me with so many more questions so at least on my next visit to the obgyn I will have a bunch to ask.
Thanks y'all.
this is how it worked for me
50 mgs
50 mgs
100 mgs bfp

Yes my doctor says only three mns before we try the shots..What is bfp? I am new to this. any help would help. I am seeing a infertility specialist.

I took my 1st round of clomid this month. My Ob/gyn also said 3 months then I have to move on to a specialist. is that what your dr is saying? Good luck I hope 1 round is all it takes for US. super sticky babydust
I post on another board at babycenter.com and there is a girl on there who took clomid 50 mg and was pregnant that first month. So it is possible. Just depends on how your body reacts to it. I myself didn't have any luck with 50 100 or 150 and the dr. wanted to move onto clomid and injectibles. My sister in law took clomid for 8 months. She was ovulating great with it and nothing ever happened for her so Dr. said there is no point. (She ovulated on her own before the clomid). I've heard them say that if it is going to work, it will work in 3 - 4 months.
Good luck!!!!
I heard that they only try clomid for 3- 4 cycles before moving on to other methods. I think the reseach shows not much increase in chances after third or fourth month.
Why did your doc say only 3 months? I've always heard that it usually works within 6 months. As for me, I got a BFP after being on it 8 months. That's odd that the dr. is only giving you 3 months. Are you seeing an RE or just a plain ob/gyn?
