cyst!!!!

Well I went back to the Dr yesterday and had another u/s done...because we were going to try doing another IUI, but I can't this cycle because I have a cyst...they didn't tell me how big it was, but I saw on the paper that it is 2.24 I don't know if that is in cm or mm? will this go away on it's own or will they have to put me on something? My other question is : I was just spotting when they did the u/s, but when she was doing it I was cramping and after that I cramp and the spotting turned into bleeding...is that normal after a u/s??? So now this month DH and I just have to try on our own..with the temp graphing....ovulation monitor....so we'll see!

after 3 rounds of clomid I developed 4 cysts. I was a little freaked out b/f I realized exactly what they were. Like ttchopeful said, it's a leftover follicle. My dr. gave me birth control (irritating since I was seeing him for infertility) to speed up the process. Apparently bc aides in getting rid of cysts. They wanted us to stop with the meds (therefore IUI, etc.) until the cysts were gone. In 2 months they were. Good luck!

Pretty much they are the same thing.  A leftover follicle is a cyst. For most women taking birth control pills or just waiting a month it will disappear on its own. If you have PCOS or poly cystic ovarian syndrome then they don't usually go away on their own and can cause infertility issues because even though your producing follicles they aren't rupturing so you don't ovulate normally.

I had to sit out a cycle because of a cyst or risidual follicle.  Not sure which and not sure what the difference is. Dr put me on a progesterone birth control pill twice a day for 21 days (starting on cd7).  The next cycle it was gone, so it worked.

You get mentally all geared up to give it another try and BAM, ya get hit with a cyst.  I hate it when that happens.  Hopefully it will clear up right away.

in april the doc found a cyst on my ovary as well...at that time it was about 1.5...the doc said they would monitor it for growth and so i went back in august and the cyst was still there and it had grown over 2 by that time...i was scared just as you are right now

however, last week i was back at the doc and they did a u/s and discovered the cyst was gone...it went away on its own

the doctor explained to me that cysts for some women are very common and come with their cycles and then go away...i think if the cyst is fluid filled they will monitor it but won't remove it right away, if the cyst appears to have a harder filling (sorry for the terminology im trying to remember) then they will test it to make sure its not cancerous...

if the doctor didnt suggest having it removed then dont worry yourself...the doc also told me its not impossible to get preg with a cyst so hang in there

---Good Luck-----
