how long does hcg shot last?

I had an hcg shot Monday April 30 (10000U).  Does anyone know how long this is in your system or when it is safe to test?

HCG is in your system for 10 days.  I have been told by more than one RE that you can test anytime after day 12 and it should be accurate.  Take that with a grain of salt.  I'll probably get yelled at for saying :)  There are always circumstances that can make this not true but it IS the case for the most part.

I agree. They say wait one day per 1000 units, so after 10 days there shouldn't be any detectable hcg from the shot. If you get a BFP at this point, it's most likely not from the injection.

We weren't giving a definite answer, but rather a rule of thumb for avoiding a false positive. Everyone's body is different, and if you inject more hcg in the fat tissue than in the muscle, it will metabolize out of your body faster. Your own metabolism is a factor too. I think the OP just wanted a general idea of when the hcg is out of your system.

hey i got my trigger shot on arpil 26th...i tested positive on opk for 5 days..i was due for my af may 10th..and i started testing @ 9dpo...with all BFN..i never even got a false positive..so i dont know about that ...i ended up getting my af on may 10th ...now im on my second round of clomid..u/s on cd14 with trigger shot again..hopefully this time it will work..i had 2 good follies last month with only 50mg of clomid and this month im doing 50mg again!

MLB- if you tested yesterday and it was positive, RUN to the store and buy the 3 pack first response early pregnancy tests.  Take it tonight tomorrow and Thursday and bring them into your RE appoint!!!  

If you got a BFP 2 days ago, I'd say your PG.  If you had your trigger on the 30th, HCG is definitely out of your system two days ago.  That's 13 days! I've never heard any girls say HCG stayed in there system that long!

I was just curious what other people have heard because the nurse told me not to test until the 17th which seems a little long (that would be 17 days past trigger).  I tested once last week and it was negative and then yesterday it was positive but these were with different brands of tests.  This was my first round of femara and I am totally surprised because my lining was not that great - just at the minimum and I only had one follicle.  We will see what happens because I have had 2 m/c already.  I read somewhere that femara can give better quality of eggs than clomid - I hope this was the case with me.
