i am starting cycle #3 today.  in the past i used clomid/menopur with a trigger shot.  this month, he switched to femara/menopur with a trigger.  what is different about femara?  I got 3 follies first cycle, and 4 last cycle.  what would the difference be with femara? any side effects?

I will have to talk to Dh he does not trust those tests he said when we are at the DR on Friday he is going to demand they test me again only because of the fact that with the trigger shot I never miss my period if I am not preggo. He is worried and confused and angry all at the same time. But we will get a blood test again to see.

i think you should test again.  with my 5 year old, i didn't get a positive until i was 5 days late!!!!  i was taking estrogen at the time to help me get pg.  i was sure i wasn't, but when i called my dr. at 5 days late and asked her to give me something to get the show on the road so i could try again, she said re-test, and sure enough.... i think it is worth another test just to be sure.

No I have not taken a home test again to scared to. My mom thinks even with the trigger shot I ovulated later because I had two days of higher temps the Monday and Tuesday following the trigger shot she still thinks I could be pregnant just a week behind of what they thought I should be.

I had 4 follicles last month so that scares me a little, I don't want more follicles! But maybe because of the thinning? I started AF Monday and it was really, really light, and totally done yesterday, so maybe it was making the lining too thin even though I was only taking 25 mg.

My first round of Femara I had more follicles they could not measure them all. The only thing is with the Femara + trigger they said I am not PG but I still have not started my cycle so I am going in on Friday to talk with my DR to find out why. I had more follicles with the Femara then I have ever had with any other drug I have tried. I tried Gonal-F about 5 years ago and I did not have that many follicles so I am thinking that the Femara  is the best route for me. Or so I hope. Good luck with it.

The femara is better for you because it doesn't thin your uterine lining like clomid does.  I also noticed alot less side effects with the femara.  I didn't use the menopur with it though, so I only had one follicle.  But it worked for me on the 2nd cycle!
