Does anyone know if the results are found right away?  I mean, can they tell if your tubes are open immediately?  I'm having this done in 2 weeks, and I don't want to wait for the results.

i did not feel any pain at all with mine.  i took a motrin about 30-45 minutes before hand like my paperwork said and did not feel anything besides pressured from the normal PAP smear clamp they use.

Good luck.  Hope all is well.

I had this last week.  I made it seem more difficult than it actually was because I had so much anxiety about it.  Trust me.  It's not that bad.  Think of it as a pap smear, b/c that's pretty much similar.  It was a little uncomfortable b/c one of my tubes was a little resistant but really, I kept expecting the REAL "pain" to come any minute but it never did.  I am still a little tender in my tubes and uturus area though, a week later.  You'll be alright!  Just let them flush those tubes out, gal, you'll be happy you did it once it's over, and you'll realize it wasn't as bad as you thought it was going to be.  Good Luck!

I agree with the others.  I had some cramping when the dye was being injected and then off and on for the rest of the day.  A word of advice - take some advil (ibuprofen) about an hour or so before your appointment.  My doctor instructed me to do that to lessen the pain.  Also, just try to stay as relaxed as you can (I know that's tough to do!).  All the best to you!

Good luck with the procedure. It does go fast and for me it was pretty painful. I had a little bit of bleeding and cramps afterwards, but I felt better with in 15 minutes of the procedure. Good luck with your IVF :)

I had an HSG done last Oct. and it was only painful for about 5 minutes or so.  Of course it felt like the longest 5 minutes of my life!!  LOL  Felt fine afterwards.  Good luck! Hope everything turns out ok.
