Pelvic inflammatory disease can cause scar tissue in the Fallopian tubes.  This can be checked for by doing a procedure that puts dye up your uterus and into your tubes, and your ob-gyn can put in the orders for this test.  (Short name for the test is an HSG.)  If you have open tubes, nothing else about having p.i.d. in the past should hurt your chances now.  (Your bigger challenge is being 37.)

I have read that it can cause some problems but not sure why. I had a friend who had it when we were younger but she had 2 kids before I lost contact with her. I would talk to your Dr about it and see what they say. I think it has something to do with scar tissue but not sure. Good luck to you!
