spilled my Ovidrel shot by mistake

i made a HUGE mistake when taking the Ovidrel(trigger)shot, and was thinking i was supposed to pull the syringe out a little bit then push all the medicine in. But i was WRONG. When i pulled the syringe out a bit the whole thing popped out and the medicine spilled out on the floor ! I am such an IDIOT :(
this was supposed to be the booster....i had taken the Ovidrel(trigger) shot last wed. then did the IUI on Friday..this was supposed to be taken today. I dont have any more...my doctors office was closed, so i cant ask them. i was able to reach the pharmacy and have them deliver another one for tomorrow. my Question is...do u think it matters if i take the Ovidrel tomorrow vs. today??? i am so mad at myself right now. I hope it doesnt effect my chances??

hi

I took ovidrel as well (trigger) to mature the eggs to get ready for ovulation and it had to be exactly 36 hours before egg retrieval so with IUI they might just change your insemination time a little.

Don't stress!!! I am sure it will be fine.

Since it's just a booster, I wouldn't think it's that big of a deal. Most women only use ovidrel once to trigger ovulation....booster shots after O are not that common. I would just do what Lily suggested and call your dr. in the morning and see what he/she says.

:-)

I would think it would be ok.   The majority of the people here don't do booster shots, including myself, and have gotten pregnant.  Come to think of it - I've never heard of a HCG shot after IUI.

Good luck!

Speak with your doctor first thing tomm.  When I did my shot I was given a specific date and time to do the injection.  Since you are doing IUI it might be different.  So before you do the injection check with your doctor.

Good luck!
