I go for my lap this Thursday, afraid a little but very anxious for sometime I wondered if I could have a baby but then I went stright to fertility doctor who 1st performed and ultrasound on me then a few days later did HSG this allowed him to see more. THis procedure showed blocked right tube so now lap is next to correct any problems. Wish me luck baby dust all over you!

I had a lap last October, I had to take a week off work as I couldn't do anything after it, my stomach muscles were in a lot of pain afterwards, my boyfriend had to help me everytime I needed to get out of bed, going to the toilet was a bit difficult too. Anyway a week off work reading magazines and eating chocolate aint all that bad! Everyone is different, what is painful for one person might not be for another, and I'm glad I had it done as I found out everything was normal down there.
Good luck and don't worry.

I thank God and my RE that I had lap done. If I hadn't, I would still be wondering why I couldn't get pg!! It's not bad at all. Recovery time varies, but even after my 4 hour procedure, I was running a few errands 2 days later. Some people have 2 incisions, but I had 4 (I had lots of adhesions that had to come out).

Don't be afraid- in the hands of a good surgeon, this may very well solve your fertility problems!!

Hi !
I had a laparoscopy in July and I was really scared before..The truth is I did not fell anything since I was  under anesthesia then I woke up and one hour later went home.
I would reccomend 2 days at home from work since you will feel a little sore but nothing major.
Good luck to you!

I had my laparoscopy done last August.  Stupid me didn't even know it was a surgical procedure until I showed up at the hospital and the nurse told me where my incision would be.  Honestly, the worst part about the lap was having the IV put in.  For the actual test, you're totally out of it, so that parts fine (I actually had some of the best sleep I'd had in months then!).  Once I woke up, I was a little sore, but within an hour of the procedure I was eating and walking around.  That afternoon I spent most of the time laying on the couch, and the following morning I was up at 7am running my usual 4 miles.  Don't get me wrong...I was a little sore, but it really was nothing bad.  I took tylenol for the pain, but probably only took a couple of doses.  I'm so glad I had it done b/c they can check out so much with that one test.  I promise you its not as bad as you fear.

I would share my experince with you but it was a bad one...usually what you can expect is some slight pain and alot of bloating afterwards...I had a paralitic alleal (spelling) because of a strand of endometriosis my doct. cut that was connecting my lower bowel, so I ended up in the hospital for a few days.
I do recommend, no matter how nervous you are, getting the lap done, as my HSG came back clear, but my tubes are actually so badly scared with endo that i won't be able to concieve naturally, and I wouln't have known this if it wasn't for the lap.
I am sure everything will go well for you, plan to be off work for a few days at least, to give yourself time to heal, and let the gas out :)
