I totally understand what you are going through.... I have been TTC for the past 5 years, I had 4 clomid cycles, 4 IUI's and 2 IVF's from May 2002 to Decmeber 2004.  Nothing happened with Clomid, the first IUI I got a positive pregnancy, then miscarried, and the other 3 IUI's and 2 IVF' did not work at all. I also suffer from PCOS and it is horrible.  I am going to be starting another IUI cycle probably on Monday after blood and ultrasound.  I took time off because I could not afford to buy the mediciation and the have the procedure. The reason I am having another IUI instead of IVF is becuase I can afford $700 for the IUI and $1400 for injections right now and not $15,000 for IVF.  My doctor agree because of my finacial situtation since my medical covers NOTHING......  But please remeber one thing..... DO NOT LOSE FAITH.... you have to think positive, I really think that helps alot.  Good Luck to you.....

I did 3 cycles of clomid and my follicles just will not mature.  I believe the next step will be injections.  I just hope I respond to the injections.  I'm starting to lose faith!  I have PCOS and well as everyone else with PCOS I'm just annoyed.  Any suggestions?

I read that on your other post.  I am so sorry you got bad news, Sweetie!!  That is so frustrating!  And I know it just makes you mad and upset - I have been there.  I think a short luteal phase is something that can easily be fixed with progesterone (either pills or suppositories), but I don't know anything about elevated prolactin levels.  I wouldn't worry about a tumor.  You cannot trust that stuff you read on the internet.  If I had to guess, I would say this is probably related to PCOS.  It seems like most yucky infertility stuff for us PCOS-ers always goes back to that.  I will be praying for you!

hi Christy,
well i got bad news..i went into the office this morning for blood work and u/s and later on today Jenette called me to tell me that i shodunt start the injections because i have elevated prolactin level which is a hormone that prevents you from getting preg. they want me to go again on thurday morning to get another blood work and after that i will be put on meds when that lowers down she wants me to try clomid again she says this could be the reason why i havent responded to clomid this really sucks!!! and on top of it i just googled it and its telling me that it could be a tumor too and that my luthel phase is short im having a bad day today i feel like **** and i cant take this no more...why is this happening whyyyy!!!!

hey Christy,
well Dr. Magyar want to be more aggressive and talked to me more about going into injections just because ive been on clomid for 4 months now and one failed IUI and i dont want to waste more time and he knows it so we are moving on into injections and praying to god that this time will work its a little more time consuming i would have to go to the office like 4 times in 2 weeks and a little more money but i want to try, dosent hurt to try i guess, i wasent going to do anything but me and my DH talked it over and decided to move on and to just pursue and the Dr. told me that with it will be more effective and multiple pregnancies occurs in 1 out of 3 which im really happy who knows maybe i can get preg. with twins or even tripplets and i will be done in one shot i dont mind at all!!
ahhaa well i hope ur having a good sunday im having family eat over and im going to the the office tomorrow bring an early to get my first injections which i got yesterday via fedex the nurse is going to show me how to use it kind of nervous but i can do it!

I did not know you were going on injections this time?  Did you not ovulate on the clomid?  Or are you doing injections just to get more follicles each time?  Let me know how it goes.  I finally posted to our "late20s" post.

I had a normal natural pregnancy 9 years ago and have a daughter. I got remarried and we have been TTc for 1 year, all of my cycles were with injections. I have had problems with ovulation, and am 39 years old, so they opted to not do clomid but go right to injections. The IUI was scheduled after the follicles got to at least 17mm. now the thing with the U/s AND blood work 4 of my IUI's were with regualr ob/gyn they never did bw or u/s until like cycle day 11 or 12 once I went to RE they did every other day BW and U/S I asked why and they told me your estrogen has to match up with increasing follicle, for example your estrogen should be between 150-600 per mature follicle, I was having 3 and 4 follicles at 16,17 and 21 mm but my estrogen was only like 475 so thats really not that great for 3 or 4 mature follies, the injections are really easy, you may feel a little stinging, I found putting ice on the spot before injection really helps alot..

did u go all ur IUI's with the injections?  or did you do some with clomid? so doing this i dont need to take clomid rite? and on what cycle day do the do the IUI? is it like different everytime depending on ovulation? have u gotten preg. before? i cant immagine going tru all these injections each cycle and IUI's and not get preg. its very time consuming and money at the same time..i hope i will be ok to do the injections myself i wish this could be so much easier..my RE office gaved me a cd to look at and its like step by step what i need to do but you explained really simple thank you.

ok I have had 6 IUI's and took the gonal f injections, mine were a 900 unit pen, you have to turn the dial of the pen to the right dosage then kind of pull out, then you screw the needle on to the pen. I did mine all in the belly, I just wiped with the alcohol pad, and pinched the belly, the needles are really small. you will take these injections for so many days, they will do ultrasounds and blood work to see if the follicles are growning, and the blood work will probably be estrogen to confrim the growth of an egg, when the follicles reach a certain point you will take your trigger shot (ovidrel) which will cause the follicles to release the eggs  hope this helps feel free to ask any more questions you may have.
